through His Spirit. And how is it that the Spirit is privy to such knowledge? The Spirit searches all things, yes, and the deep things of God. For what man knows the things of a man except the spirit of man which is in him? Even so no one knows the things of God except the Spirit of God.” This verse talks about if one really wants to know the things of God they must ask Him to reveal the Holy Spirit to them. The Holy SpiritSpirt inspired prayers, and can help us in our weakness. He know what we really want and need. Based on Romans 8:26-27, “For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God.”". The Old Testament ministry was nothing like the New Testament, it was not open to women nor some men, and it was limited to a very small Israeli group (Not “nothing,” there were quite a few similarities as well).
Only men belonging to the tribe of Levi could serve as assistants in the Tabernacle, or Temple, this was a way of declaring the holiness of God. The Levitical priest would tell you about God in the Old Testament. A priest must also have been a direct descendent of Aaron, and must have been a male, a Levite, and healthy. Only the High Priest could enter the Holy place in the Temple, once a year, on the Day of
Atonement. Christian ministry is the responsibility of the local churches to fulfill its biblical mandate in the world. The Christian ministry can be defined by the Great Commission: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you” (Matt. 28:19-20). The foundation or church ministry is to go out and tell others about God. We must build the body of Christ in the unity of faith and knowledge in God. Ministry is not about rituals or routine service religion nor is it about how many people you have in your audience, but spiritual growth and having a relationship with God. Our goal for ministry of church is to bring every believer into an authentic relationship with God through the grace of Christ and the power of the Holy Spirit, so that every believer glorifies God in thought, word, and deed both in the church and out in the world with the ultimate goal of making it to heaven.
