The Importance Of Gun Control In America
America should have better gun control for many reasons, people don’t feel safe with others having guns because they believe criminals have a higher advantage of killing innocent people and could cause more trouble. Even if it is the police’s job to protect us from this happening, there are others that take the advantage from using their gun and they make big mistakes with it. America must have a different way to control gun safety and gun laws should be stricter.
The majority of deaths in the United States are because of people getting killed with guns and the reason is because the guns end up in the wrong hands. Meaning that, instead these are people who are innocent, who are the ones with more chance of not having protection. Instead, criminals are the ones that are using this opportunities to buy guns to then try to go and jump others for money etc. For example, in Jackson, Missouri, a man suffered gunshot wounds during an armed robbery afternoon just to take his wallet, the victim recovered. The use of guns is for people to protect themselves, but not everyone can have one for reasons and end up being other criminal’s victims.

take it to public places that don’t have a lot of security. There are many places with problems like this and then they have major problems. For example, in December 14, 2012, a shoot-out happened in Sandy Hook Elementary school in Newtown, Connecticut killing 20 children along with 6 adults. Since this event, there have been more horrible situations like this and they need to stop.
Police work for our protection and are needed for the most difficult situations.
Like when there are criminals on the loose, they are there to stop them. Instead, there are others who can’t do their job right, some cops think that the best way to deal with problems are to shoot the victims. The law states that you can’t fire at someone is unarmed. Cops should have better training for when it is the right time to use their gun at the right time. With situations like this, it is the reason why the “Black Lives Matter Movement” exists today. In August 9, 2014, in Ferguson, Missouri, 18-year-old Michael Brown African- American was shot by a white police being
unarmed.
The United States is a country where it defines freedom, but not have liberty due to the 2nd amendment in the Bill of Rights to allow everyone to have guns. We must make changes in the country to make America better and a safer country to protect our citizens. Reasons like this should be enough to convince others why should things change, think, and make a change for us, for why the U.S should have a better gun control system.
