Although I have an early dismissal, school is still 6 hours long and then I invariably have homework on top of that. I am thankful for the math teacher I obtained this year because last year the math teacher I was assigned gave me at least a half hour to forty-five minutes of homework a night. That was just math, I was in almost all honors classes so I would steadily have homework in those classes. The recommended amount of sleep for someone my age is at least 8 hours. To be totally honest, I’m lucky if I get about seven hours of sleep.
On top of cheerleading I am also in two clubs, NHS and DECA. For DECA, I will have to make a project to make it into the state level and that project is going to take time out of my day. On top of that I have NHS to be concerned about. There is only one meeting a month, but there are also committees that we have to join such as
Dance and Induction and Community Service. In those committees there are ancillary, monthly meetings and superfluous work. To top all of that off we need 35 hours of community service per year. I do not know how I will get those hours due to how much time I spend in school and doing school work. Being a well rounded student takes so much time. I have such little free time. The school day needs to shorten, it works for Upper St. Clair. Upper St. Clair starts at around 8-8:30 and the students get out at 2. The district is considered one of the smartest in the area, so clearly Upper St. Clair is doing something
