The Importance Of Onboarding In The Workplace
When it comes to onboarding at my current employer I think that they have a little of everything. Of course now more companies are heading into the social media methods but we are not completely there yet. I have worked for employers before that took the social or the online process for almost everything, like hiring, benefits and training. There was a human resource department but you would never guess because everything had to be done online. Just like what the article stated was that “at some point, if leader and human resource pushes all its systems and programs into the social column, we will risk losing the human touch-and the invaluable opportunity for a one-to-one transfers of knowledge and workplace culture”(Biro, 2012). Being a manager for a company that preforms almost everything online makes it hard to have a true culture among the leaders and employees. Employees applications will come through email and you had to review thousands and thousands application a day, but never get to see who is applying and see if that person will fit the companies culture. / …show more content…
Our onboarding process is having a training manager with you for two weeks and walking you through policy, training, all HR paperwork, companies’ culture, and store standards. After that everything is hands on with some guides online if you need to look back anything, or you can call the training manager which places a mentor to the employees in all levels. Overall I would not really change anything in there onboarding process, I think that they have a happy
