The Learning Curve by Atul Gawande was very intriguing. I have never heard of a "learning curve" but it makes a ton of sense. A person must practice new things in order to get better at them. I thought it was especially interesting when the experienced surgeon asked Gawande if he had "the shoulder role underneath [the patient]" (Gawande 2) and he did not. Then, at the end of the article as Gawande was now the experienced surgeon, he asked his student if she "got the towel roll" (Gawande 15) and she too did not. Atal Gawande was once a surgeon who was new in the field but as years went on, he became skilled and began teaching surgeons who were like him.
