Percy Jackson written by Rick Riordan and the movie directed by Chris Columbus. “Percy Jackson “is about a teenage boy who find out his father is a god from Mountain Olympus. The teenage boy was set up, god fin the Mountain believed that the teenage boy stole the lightning. He had to go on a quest to find where the stolen lighting is and stop the war between the gods. In comparison, one will find out that The Percy Jackson novel is completely superior to the movie for several reason its setting, characters, and plot.
Firstly, the setting in the Percy Jackson novel included more detail then the movie. Frist of all in the movie, it did not mention Percy, Annabeth, and Grover went to Denver and Los angles. Second In the novel the god of wars asked them to go to the water park pick something up for him and it turned out to be a trap. It is one of the most intense moment but in the movie they missed this part. Third, in the novel Percy, Annabeth, and Grover take a taxi from the lotus Hotel and casino but in the movie Grover drove. The novel has more details setting then the movie.
Secondly, the novel has richer characterization then the movie. In the movie they missed important characters. Frist, the age of both Percy and Annabeth are wrong, they are supped to be 12 in the book; whereas in the movie, they are 16. Also the appearances of Medusa and Annabeth are not what reader expected. According to the book, Medusa is an old, Middle Eastern woman, with coffee-colored skin, and Annabeth has curly blonde hair, and gray eyes. Contrast the movie. Medusa appears to be a young, Caucasian woman and Annabeth has iron-straight brown hair, and blue eyes. Lastly, the characterization of Hades is different between novel and the movie, thus the main thing wrong with the movie. The movie shows Hades are the bad boss, because the absent of Kronos and Ares. However as most of people’s understanding of the book, Kronos is
