The Lion King is a story of a young lion prince born in Africa, where lions rule the kingdom. Simba is the son of King Mufasa, thus making King Mufasa, Scar brother and the third in line to the throne. Scar’s jealously led him to secretly plots against his own family thus kill King Mufasa and Prince Simba, therefore making himself King of the Pride Lands. Simba's manipulated Uncle, Scar, schemed with the hyenas by luring Mufasa and Simba in a stampede of wildebeests. Mufasa saves his son, but couldn’t save himself, after Mufasa was killed during the stampede Simba is led to believe by Scar that it was his fault. So Simba runs away in shame and grows up in Savannah, living by the motto, Hakuna Matata: It means no worries for the rest of your days. The duo Timon and Pumbaa adopt Simba and raise him as a cub, after several years of exile Simba’s past began to haunt him and was persuaded to return back to his kingdom with the help of his two best friends to overthrow Scar and clam his kingdom as his own.

With that being said, one theory that would judge this decision would be the divine command theory, where they believe in the world of god, which is against hurting or killing people. People who practice the divine command theory believe in practicing the words that god preaches and Scar went against that to murder his brother to presume the throne. Another theory would be the utilitarianism theory. The utilitarianism theory is where people make choices which consequences yield the largest net gain of happiness over pain for everyone. Someone who practices utilitarianism would never have killed someone, especially the king, as they know that murdering someone is wrong and death brings sadness to many people. Scar knew that killing Mufasa would bring much sadness to everyone in the kingdom and yet he did it
