The Lord Of The Flies: Comparing The Book And Movie

There are three differences I’m going to talk about. The first difference is how the pilot started out alive. The second is how there were more knives than what Jack had brought. Lastly I’m going to be talking about how the opening scene was different because in the book they started on the island while in the movie they were in the water. The pilot was alive in the beginning of the movie. The pilot in the opening scene is seen falling deep into the water. A kid had saved him from falling and drowning. Then they brought him onto the island with them. The pilot was very sick and they made some kind of net for him. I think that the net was to protect him from bugs since he was already very sick. The pilot after a decent amount of time woke up and walked away. The pilot was next seen grabbing one of the group members. Simon after that time went to check in the cave and found what I believe to be the pilot's corpse. There were more knives than what Jack had brought. In the movie most of the kids had brought some kind of pocket knife while as Jack had brought a full
The opening was different in the movie because they started out in water where you see the pilot falling into the water before a kid saves him. In the movie they have a boat that they use to then get onto the island after all the kids had gotten on. In the book though it starts out showing ralph climbing a rock as Piggy then finds him and they start talking. It is how Ralph finds out about Piggy being called Piggy. In the movie Piggy just all of a sudden gets called Piggy without any kind of background as to why he may have been called it. Overall there were many differences between the book and the movie. They followed the basic storyline. I think i would prefer the book. The book in my opinion shows some of the scenes better. The movie does show their moods better than the book could have. The movie does lack some of the Important details that made the book how it
