The Main Character Of Katniss In The Hunger Games
The main character of this book is Katniss. First of all, Katniss is a girl who is protective over her younger sister, Prim. She faces death to take over her sister's spot in the Hunger Games, a fight to quietus on live television. Her sister, Prim got chosen to participate in the annual Hunger Games. Katniss volunteers for taking her spot in the games, so Prim doesn't suffer on broadcasting T.V. Also, she risked her own life for her sister. Next, she is a kind-hearted person. Katniss treated the male participant, Peeta, from her district when he was especially weak and ill. Therefore, she fed him and treated Peeta when he didn't eat in a couple of days in the arena. She did this because both female and male participants from the same district were both allowed to succeed in the games. Also, when her friend, Rue, was getting attacked by a career (a group in the games), she killed the career. Wistfully, Rue had slowly died, but before she passed away, Katniss took care of her and sang her a song. She did this because Rue cherishes Mockingjay, a type a bird, and so Rue passed away peacefully. Once Rue was gone, Katniss covered her with flowers to represent her humanity to Katniss. To volunteer for a person who is chosen to participate takes courage and bravery. Also, she knows the games could kill her, but she still volunteered for Prim, showing true intrepidity. She never gave up, even though she doubted herself a few times and thought she would die through starvation, thirst, and assassination. Throughout the book, she fought through all obstacles in her way to succeed in the Hunger games. It takes true determination and fearlessness to do this in an arena full of life and
