Romeo is in a deep depression because he is crazy for Rosaline but she does not love him back, “Out of her favor, where I am in love”(1. 1. 158). Romeo then later goes to a party held by the Capulets to see Rosaline once again but ends up forgetting about Rosaline and falls for Juliet. Romeo and Juliet take their love to the extreme, they get married and then later consume their own lives for it. Although Romeo and Juliet’s love is the most prevalent in the play, there are other loves too. The love between Romeo and Mercutio is shown when Romeo kills Tybalt because Tybalt stabbed Mercutio. The love between Juliet, the nurse, Lord Capulet, and Lady Capulet is shown by them all wanting the best and taking care of Juliet. Love is a feeling that is expressed, shown, and felt within everyone no matter when, whom or what with. The idea of love is permeated throughout the book and is expressed by many characters. From the instant that the two laid eyes upon each other at the Capulet party they fell in love. The most romantic scene (arguably) is the balcony scene in which Romeo and Juliet speak and confess their love for one another. This is the scene in which the two decide to marry. Other romantic gestures include the marriage of the two teens and when the two are in the Capulet tomb. The most grand romantic gesture in the play is in the tomb when both Romeo and Juliet both take their lives so that they do not have to be without one another, “For fear of that, I still will stay with thee, and never from this palace of dim night depart again. here, here will I remain with worms that are thy chamber maids. Oh, here will I set up my everlasting rest” (5. 3. 115). These scenes all show how in love Romeo and Juliet truly were with each other and that they would do anything for one another. The romance that is prevalent in Romeo and Juliet is still popular because people want that romance in their life. People know and or have experienced romance before and that is why it is an exciting thing to read about because, like the idea of love, it fascinates
