Hell and Back;
The Night She Disappeared

Everyone has a cause, the thing the keeps us going. It gives us the strengths and the necessity to keep going on with life. April Henry, the author of the book, did a good job at describing every detail about the book that it seem realistic. The book keeps the reader entertained and focused on the base plotting of the story. With a mystery to solve, Gabie Klug will reach the end of the line to bring back her friend.

The start of the book catches your attention from the beginning. It pulls

Car parked in place with the foot-brake on and all her gatherings in the passenger seat, along with the three large pizzas she was sent to deliver. A bloody rock was found a few yards away from her vehicle. A couple of stoner, trouble making kids spot her red Ford Taurus and called it in. Drew and Gabie couldn't wait any longer and they went out and helped with the search for Kayla. The police get an anonymous tip that an old white pick-up was seen leaving the area, but they were able to track down their license plate. The vehicle belonged to a teenager named Cody Renfrew. They interrogate him, but get no answers from him other than that he saw a man in a silver car take off. Officer Thayer filed for a search warrant to search Cody’s home, but they arrived late, he was already dead. Cody Renfrew had committed suicide and left a note saying “Please forgive me.” The cops follow up on their leads and conclude Kayla’s case as they believed she was murdered and that Cody was the kidnapper. My second reason why I like this book is because unlike other books, April made hers so that you get an adrenaline rush that catches you off- …show more content…
Drew and Gabie find the name who placed the order on the night she went missing. Kidnapper or murderer, they planned on finding out who this man really was. A third reason why I liked this book was because the layout of the story was catchy. The plot of the story made sense and she didn't leave out any details about what happen that would throw off the reader. The information was straight forward and you always wanted to keep on reading. The author, April Henry, was a writer by night and a public speaker at special homes for troubled kids during the day. She brings you real-life situations that occur to ordinary kids and puts meaningful life-lessons into a story. April has a small collection of mystery themed books that you may enjoy as well. Her dedication is strong as she writes to entertain kids and teach them about

    Alice Robie is a 15 year old girl. She was visiting her father during one of her “custody weekends”. She gets a strange call from her father telling her to drive his most prized car, Corvette, which he wouldn’t let anyone touch. In the book it said that was one reason why her parents were divorced because her mother thought he loved the car more than her. Her father told her to get two disks and drive to where they eat ice cream most of the time. In my opinion I felt that the main character took to long to complete this task. But before she could live the house a strange yet familiar person invades her looking for the disk her father told her to bring. Fortunately she was hiding with the disk under the Corvette. The intruder says that he had killed someone for good. After the intruder leaves her house she gets into the Corvette and drives to the place her father told her to meet up with him.…

    How are you, Anthony? Hope you are doing well as I am. Recently, I finished reading a book called Night by Elise Wiesel. This book is based on a real life circumstance endured by young Elie Wiesel. I truly enjoyed reading this book, therefore, I believe that you will enjoy it too. So I am recommending this book to you to read. Reading this book will give you a more in-depth, personal view of Elie’s experience during the Holocaust. An interesting fact: Holocaust was derived from the Greek word ‘holokauston’ which translates to ‘sacrifice by fire’.…

    Elie Wiesel wrote the novel “Night”. This novel was based on his experiences as a Jewish child during the holocaust. Wiesel was one of four children, he had 2 older sisters and 1 younger sister. They grew up in Romania with their mother and father. In 1940 during the war his father was invited to a meeting where they discovered the Germany army was transporting everyone in his town to ghettos. In may of 1944 the German authorities deported most of the Jewish community to Aushwitz concentration camp.In this concentration camp he was separated from his mother and three sisters,but he did remain with his father for a majority or his time spent in the concentration camps.When they arrived at aushwitz they were taken to a shower to strip of all clothing and disinfect, then they were sent to the barber and then sent to get their number tattooed on their arm . Their identity was completely confiscated from them.Elie worked hard and remained as healthy as he possibly could or could seem so him and his father would last the constant checks. Elies father was nearly dead at the end but could only manage to keep him alive for so long before the guards realize he was not useful. Elies father was killed two weeks before American troops invaded aushwitz and slowly saved the remaining Jewish prisoners. When out Elie found out that his father, his mother, and his youngest sister did not survive.…

In this story, Nancy was starring in her friends Ben and Quentin's movie to make her acting debut. During this, a mysterious accident occurred when Ben and Quentin suddenly disappeared. We all have a senior such as Flossie that we adore to bits, another such as Auntie May who needs our care and a best friend like Marina that we love to hate. We all shop at the local bookstore with a lovely proprietor offering recommendations and we all have the troublemakers like Claudia. However, even with their everydayness, the novels are very intriguing with their small town problems such as PTA squabbles and unrequited love interspersed with murder mysteries. Thankfully, Beth has the skill and patience to chase down and investigate clues to help solve some of the most intricate of murder mysteries. Besides the lead character, the characters in the series while seemingly mundane have realistic troubles that include dealing with exes, raising children, and financial troubles. The author creates a mild level of suspense in the series of novels by making some of the murder mysteries threaten Beth’s business or endanger some of her most beloved of friends or family. In fast-paced whodunit novels, Alden keeps the suspense very well as she throws red herrings and keeps the real suspect under wraps until the very end, when she makes the big…
