Abraham is known to be the father of all three major world religions. These include Christianity, Islam, and Judaism. The Old Testament proves that Abraham’s offspring helped form the children of Israel over the course of centuries. Both Judaism and Christianity believe in the Old Testament. Judaism’s holy book is the Torah, which consists of only the Old Testament; However Christianity’s holy book, the Bible, also has the Old Testament, and has the New Testament as well. Christians don’t believe in works, but salvation by grace. Judaism focuses on rituals and many specific rules, one must have almost a perfect life to be a devoted follower of Judaism. It even states in the Old Testament that the Jews were given certain rules on what to eat, and what not to eat. In the Bible Jesus says, “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. If you really know me, you will know my Father as well. From now on, you do know him and have seen him” (John 14:6, english standard version). Christianity makes an emphasis on that the only way to an internal life is through Jesus.
Despite Judaism and Christianity having different views and practices, the two religions both have a similar form of orgin. The roots of both these religions are alike, and originate from teachings of the Old Testament. Not just Judaism and Christianity, but all religions will continue to have an impact on today's world, and will continue to make
