The Industrial Revolution has had negative effects on: the environment, children, and living conditions. The environment has taken a big hit from the Industrial Revolution. The use of so many natural resources has left the environment vulnerable to decline. One example is deforestation, which, despite giving us more wood, has left animals without a place to live. In addition, the lack of trees and the increase of smog are making it harder to breath. The life expectancies of people living in urban regions has plummeted, which I believe is mainly due to the Industrial Revolution. Child labor is a topic that has recently come into the public light. Some people feel that children should work and it is their right to choose to work, but some people disagree and say that it is inhumane for a child to work when they should be getting educated. In addition, children are paid exponentially less than their male adult counterparts. Children are used for jobs that their adult counterparts are unable to do due to their size. Never have we seen a level of over population like this since the infamous Black Plague. Finally, the low wages combined with an increase in food prices due to the high demand have sparked an increase in crime as people have resorted to doing anything and everything to help their families. So I have laid out for you, my readers, the positives and negatives of the new Industrial Revolution. As a writer I cannot let you just make up your minds without my opinion so I will give it to you now. After that you can think whatever you like. The Industrial Revolution has helped unite us as a country and together we have never been stronger. The world looks to us as the pinnacle of society and wealth. Our colonies bring us more wealth then we could have ever imagined and our troops protect us all around the world. Yes, there are negatives to our success, but success is not fee it most be earned. The environment will bounce back when, out of the fruits of our success, we create machines and technology that will help us restore it to its former glory.
