MOTIVATIONAL THEORIES IN
HEALTHCARE
“Expectancy theory states that an individual tends to act in a certain way based on the expectation that the act will be followed by a given outcome and on the attractiveness of that outcome to the individual
(Robbins & Coulter, 2012). ’’
Equity theory is about the outcomes and the relationship with the inputs. There is then a comparison with the outputs and inputs ratios.
“Reinforcement theory says that behavior is a function of its consequences (Robbins & Coulter, 2012).”
