There are empirical evidences that burnout affects quality of work and causes substantial damages to the organization.
One of the main symptoms of burnout is reduction of staff’s productivity (De Sillva Hewage & Fonseka, 2009). Therefore the importance of this study, which examine the issue of the relationship between Organizational & Colleagues support and burnout of nurses in hospitals and geriatric may improve staff’s productivity . the purpose of this research will be to examine the relationship between organizational support & Staff support and burnout.
To examine the differences between different nursing staffs in hospitals and geriatric institutes regarding the examined variables (Organization’ssupport, Colleague’s support and Burnout) . hypotheses: H1 – Negative correlation will be found between organizational support and burnout of hospital nurses.
H2 – Negative correlation will be found between colleague’s support and burnout of hospital nurses.
H3 - Negative correlation will be found between organizational support and burnout of Geriatric institutes’ nurses.
H4 - Negative correlation will be found between colleague’s support and burnout of Geriatric institutes nurses. research methods
Research Method: Quantitative Research. The study population: 80 nurses working in hospitals and geriatric institutions in the center of the country: 6 internal departments in Wolfson hospital and 6 departments in Gilad geriatric institution research tools:
Questionnaires:
1. Colleague’s Support Questionnaire, (Howes, 1981).
2. Organizational Support Questionnaire, (based on Eisenberger et al, 1986 - Survey of Perceived Organizational Support, SPOS)
3. Burnout Questionnaire (Maslach, Jackson & Leiter, 1996)
All questionnaires are validated. research variables
Independent variable – Organization’ssupport.
