FRF met with Cilias's mom at her home and went over Cilia's behavior at home, school and with friends. Mom wants the FRF to talk to cilia about the risks that she will face if she continuous hanging out with the wrong people. Mom also found out by her coworker that Cilia's sexual orientation is toward another woman. Mom is worry about this and wants Cilia to tell her and Mom stated that she will be understanding and accepting. FRF suggested mom to call DBH and make an appointment to start Cilia's therapy at DBH. Cilia has Medicaid at this moment. FRF will comeback next week to talk to Cilia.…
Tissues in the Body Unit 5 – Anatomy and Physiology for Health and Social Care Epithelial Cuboidal – cube shaped, prominent nucleus. Can be found in medulla of kidney. Does not allow for passive diffusion easily. Columnar – tall, vertical, thick cells. Can be found in the small intestine.…
As mammals our aerobic metabolic system requires oxygen for us to sustain life. The organ that transports oxygen from the environment into the body where it is needed, are the lungs. Oxygen is transported through cellular respiration from the lungs to tissues and organs. Between 2,100 to 2,400 gallons of air is breathed to fuel 2,400 gallons of blood that is pumped into the heart. Respiration is controlled by the medulla oblongata, which deals with the autonomic function of breathing. This characteristic allows one to breathe without having to think about the process but can also be overridden and controlled in certain situations. As a result of respiration, carbon dioxide is produced where it is removed for oxygen to be restored. The purpose…

1. The protein Sonic Hedgehog (SHH) plays a role in specifying the identity of digits (such as fingers and toes) in mammals. Several digits arise directly from cells that both express and respond to secreted SHH. What type of signaling would this be considered?…

The doublet microtubules are connected to the central microtubules by radial spokes that will maintain the same side of doublet microtubules as they move. Also, the fused pairs of doublet microtubules are interconnected by nexin to coordinate the movement of microtubules and prevent the disruption of the axonemal structure by dynein proteins. However, dynein proteins are the major motor protein required for ciliary movement and they move toward the negative end of the contiguous B tubule. Dynein proteins will bind to the activated dynein arms of microtubules that will be on one side of the axoneme resulting in a bent cilium.…
The human body consists of eleven major organ systems that maintain homeostasis: the skeletal, muscular, circulatory, nervous, respiratory, digestive, urinary, endocrine, reproductive, integumentary and lymphatic systems. These organ systems are dependent on each other to keep the human body in homeostasis. For example, the nervous and endocrine systems coordinate functions of other body systems because they allow information to be communicated throughout the body. The nervous system consists of the brain, nerves and spinal cord. It is the fast acting control system because it responds to internal and external changes throughout the body. The integumentary system forms external covering and protects deeper tissue from injury, it includes hair,…
