The Seaside.
9/11
I was late again. I remember rising from my slumber with great regret and ordering my zombiefied body to make its way toward the bathroom. I hated my job, it’s not like I was important just an assistant, running around being everyone’s slave and taking orders. And what made it worst.. It was my first day at this new job in the north tower of the world trade centre. The time was half eight when I finally managed to start making my way towards the tower. I had to scurry though large crowds of people; swerving in and out of people like a maze you couldn’t escape, but I would take going through that maze over the upcoming event I was about to endure. Everything seemed so normal, I could hear people cursing at people who had been pushed into one another, I heard the chatter of the people on their mind traps lately known as mobile phones and the chaos in front of me seemed so - normal. I looked at my watch, the time was eight forty and still trying to make me way through the crowd I remember the sudden rumbling noise, like a giant’s stomach growl, alas I knew that that was not the source of the noise. People around me started in wonder at one another all thinking the same thing, where was this noise coming from? And almost in a split second I saw this huge metal beast descend from the cloud and head straight towards the north tower; and then..
BANG!!!!!
The noise echoed throughout the streets and everyone had stopped in their tracks to place their eyes on the horror that lay before them. i don’t know why; but I sprinted towards the tower, dashing and crashing into people ignoring all the cries and gasping from the people around me. I had no plan, I had no idea what I was doing or planned on doing all I knew was that there were people in the tower and I was supposed to be one of them. By the time my feet had carried me through large crowds and bellowing on lookers, the tower had been marked off and police cars and ambulances descended onto the streets. I urged

The sound of beeping awakens you. With difficulty and trouble, you force yourself out of bed, your brain still not yet conscious. You get your uniform and proceed to head to the bathroom to get ready for school. Minutes pass by quickly and you are walking to school, lost in deep thought. For some time now, you have not yet listened to the world around you. As you gently shift your focus towards the world before you, your ears process the sound of anger at its highest level. You cannot believe what you hear. Vexation fills the air and you are now in an ever so dangerous environment. As you turn the corner, the sounds of the shouting get louder and louder. You can now hear loud running. Your eyeballs move to look around and then you see it…

Everyone whom I’ve come across since this tragic day has a story to tell, a vivid memory of their exact accounts of that day. For me, when the first plane struck the tower, I shrugged it off as a clip from an upcoming action movie. There was no way an attack in such manner can happen to our country. At the time I was a college freshman, just the fifth day in of me being an “adult”. Upon my arrival on campus, the mood was very somber, another event I did not give too much thought to. Several minutes later, what usually is an early morning class struggling to stay awake and pay attention to the material that was being presented to us, was now a classroom filled with shock, tears and screams. “We are under attack” are the four words that flashed across almost all new stations for what seemed like weeks. The once girl who was excited about embarking on a new journey in adulthood was welcomed with fear, fear that I still live with today, not knowing when and how that next attack would happen.…

September 11, 2001 began as a beautiful day with sunshine and clear blue skies. As usual, workers were off on their more commute to their jobs. Whilst students set off to school. The seemingly normal day came to a halt when reports began roaring in that the one of the US landmarks, the North Tower of the world trade center had been struck by an airliner.Smoke billowed among the town while the thuds of bodies could be heard jumping for the 110-story building. On the ground city goers ran seeking safety from this horrific scene. Stunned reporters dubbed the crash as a freak accident. This suddenly changed when only a mere 17 minutes later, a second airliner plowed through the South tower at 9:03 am that morning. Following the second hit, many…

“Go, Go!” yelled the guard, pointing at this small squared outlet in the ground. Hysteria enlightened in me, and my mind overdosed itself with adrenaline. Tackling the herds, I held my sisters hand and whipped through the crowds not caring who was in front of me. We walked inside, and realized we weren’t alone. The underground world was flooded with people as far as I could see which carried rows and rows of people with distressed looks. The guard ran in and as soon as he did, all we heard was blistering screams from those who were not part of the…

It is a windy sunset, with lots of coconut trees growing sideways. The sky is like a painting, from the dark blue to purplish-red, and no sun can be seen. Many coconut trees are to be seen along the shore, tall, short, straight, sideways and many various sizes.
