Sherlock Holmes was not guilty of killing Dr. Roylott in the story “The Adventure of the Speckled Band.” The story “The Adventure of the Speckled Band” was written by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. Sherlock Holmes was not guilty of killing Doctor Roylott because Sherlock Holmes was acting out of self-defense. Addionially Doctor Roylott was guilty of premeditated murder. Another reason Sherlock Holmes was not guilty of killing Doctor Roylott is because Sherlock Holmes could not have possibly have known where in the other room Doctor Roylott was. Sherlock Holmes was not guilty of killing Doctor Roylott for numerous reasons.
Sherlock Holmes was not guilty for killing Doctor Roylott because Sherlock Holmes was acting out of self -defense. Doctor Roylott tried to kill Helen Stoner with a dangerous snake. Furthermore, Sherlock Holmes was not guilty of killing Doctor Roylott because Doctor Roylott was an extremely guilty man capable of murder. Addionially Sherlock Holmes was not guilty of killing Doctor Roylott because Sherlock Holmes could not have possibly predicted that Doctor Roylott would be sitting under the ventilator waiting for the swamp adder. Some people may say that Sherlock Holmes was guilty of killing Doctor Roylott because he forced the agitated snake back at Doctor Roylott, which than bit and killed Doctor Roylott. Although it is true that Sherlock Holmes indirectly killed Doctor Roylott, he is not responsible for his death; because, Doctor Roylott ultimately brought his downfall upon himself by his own treacherous
