Therapeutic communication is a skill that each nurse has to work on in order to understand the requirements that are needed. When a nurse has to work on this skill it can result in the nurse to become frustrated and unable to communicate with the patient using therapeutic communication. When a nurse is communicating with a patient it is best interaction when the nurse uses therapeutic communication as opposed to non-therapeutic communication. When using therapeutic communication the nurse knows to be sympathetic for the patient and not to down grade what the patient is saying. The most important thing is to make the patient feel like the nurse is doing the best to give the care that the patient deserves.
