I easily overcame my Republican opponent, and for the next two years, I was the Governor of the American state of New Jersey. The Democratic Party nominated me for President in 1912. After 46 ballots I defeated the Speaker of the House, Champs Clark. When the Republican vote was split between William Howard Taft and Theodore Roosevelt, I easily won the election. I was now President of the United States of America. I was President of the United States for 8 years and my Vice President was Thomas Riley Marshall. In 1914, Archduke Franz Ferdinand of Austria is assassinated, throwing Europe into World War One. I made a choice and declared the United States’ neutrality. Later that year, my wife Ellen Louise Axson Wilson dies. In 1915, a German U-boat sinks the passenger ship Lusitania with 1,198 people aboard, 128 of them Americans. I then tell the Germans that we will let it slide, as long as it doesn’t happen again. Then, on December 18, I marry my second wife, Edith Bolling Galt. Next Year in 1916, I send American troops after a group of Mexican criminals because they have invaded part of the USA. Soon after, I am re elected as President.
