It takes courage to stand alone". This quote has a strong impact on my life and the mindset I have. Carrying over, high school is the time for notoriety, fun, and thrills. Consequently, the temptations that one is faced may be the most that they will ever face in their lifetime. In my three and a quarter year I have been faced with many hard temptations that shown how much courage I really had in me. A particular event that I remember is the time when I first moved to West Fargo. I was in a town where I did not know anyone so I decided to change that. I went to a party that was getting spread around in school since it was a social outing, which meant that I could get to meet new people. To my disappointment, it was a drinking party and I am not into that kind of thing. There were many people drinking beer and liquor out of the funnel while I stood reserved, watching these shenanigans take place. It was not oblivious that I was out of place so I was easily recognized and the group started to cheer me on to join in with their activities. I knew this would be the easiest way to gain popularity but I also knew that I was raised to obey the law and to not get involved with anything that dealt with alcohol or drugs. Peer pressure was exceedingly at the highest that I have ever felt in my life. In the end my mind and heart were in its right state so I was able to have the courage to reject this
