Ethical assumption is considered what is right or wrong, good or bad. According to our text if someone who believes that a crime is related to poverty then poverty itself is bad. I do tend to agree with this assumption, the reasoning is I have seen this first hand, and it is for the most part true. The text referrers to poor parenting or poverty can lead to crime. Poor parenting lacks to give the child proper guidance and allows norms inside the home to be different then the norms of the local area, and the child will not have the discipline or will to function properly in society.
Epistemological assumption, this assumption
is the understanding that science is the reason behind the epistemological assumption.
Lastly is the metaphysical assumption, it deals in man makes his own choice. God created man with free will and if man chooses to sin then it is the mans choice. It has always been a question of why does god let bad things happen and I believe that will always be a life long question, however man can make the decision to do right or do wrong.
Like I stated above I tend to side with ethical assumption where if something is bad it lead to other bad things. The text also talks about poverty leading to crime. Many times that is the only life that one may know and that is how they tend to lead their life. Look at a person who has grown up in prison or jail, that is the only life that they may know and they cannot function outside of prison, they have become institutionalized over the years and those norms are what they function by, but cannot function is normal society.
