Character Traits Of An Ideal American
Though there are many significant traits of an ideal American citizen, three traits in particular stand out to me. These traits model the perfect American citizen that we should all strive to be in our daily lives. I, personally, value these three traits the most because they are what I work towards achieving and maintaining each and every day. The three most important character traits of an ideal American, in my opinion, are honesty, loyalty and being dependable. Honesty is one of the most important character traits of an ideal American because it proves to others what type of person you truly are. If you are not an honest person then nobody will want to look to you and you cannot be trusted. Honesty is a vital characteristic because without honesty the world would be an evil place. Being an honest person models the type of person you are because if you cannot be trusted with words then you most likely cannot be trusted otherwise. Honesty shows your trustworthiness and your worth as a person. You cannot be an ideal American if you are not a trustworthy person, which makes possessing this character trait so important. I chose being dependable as the next important character trait because if people can depend on you and look to you for help in times of need then you are achieving your goal of living as an ideal American. Being dependable is very important and also a staple in ones personality because it tells people in your community you can be trusted and counted on. Being dependable models an ideal American because if you are dependable then you are willing to help people with any issue they bring to you and you help to the fullest of your ability. Being dependable proves to people that they can come to you in their time of need and that you will help them keep their faith and bring them back to a situation that is better than where they were before.     The good attributes that style #6 described me having is a person someone can lean on, I'm loyal, and committed with relationships. Also, I'm careful with money, I strive to do what is expected of me, and defend traditions I care about. An example I can think of, of me being loyal is when I ask somebody to lend me money, and I say I'll pay them back a certain day I make sure I keep my word and pay the person I owed. A reason I could think of me being committed in my relationships is when I went out with a girl for two years and I didn't cheat on her. An example of me being loyal is with my friends and family. I'm there whenever they need to talk or are sick and not feeling well. Being safe is a good attibute that did apply to me. I know it is because I keep my family safe by locking all the doors and windows when it is time to sleep. Also, I always check on my little brother and ask my mom how he's doing and if he's okay or not. How I'm careful with money is I always save money from what I get paid and buy anew game for my Playstaion 3, which are usually $60. Another reason is I save money for whenever I want to go eat somewhere, and occasionally when I want to buy new clothes or shoes. One more attribute that matches with my personality is striving to do what is expected of me. A few things I can think of is I have to water the plants from the backyard everyday, make sure I take out the trash when the trash truck comes, and to do my homework of course.…
