During the activity of kicking a football a person will use most of the muscles and joints in their body to perform the movement. Many of these muscles and joints may only play a small role in the movement but will affect the overall quality of the kick. Because of the amount of muscles and joints used in the kick I have chosen to only discuss the most important to the skill of each to discus. The three main joints used to perform a kick in football are the hip joint, the knee joint and the elbow joint.…
If every country washed by the Caribbean Sea would show the progress in stable and just civilization which, with the aid of the Platt amendment, Cuba has shown since our troops left the island, and which so many of the republics in both Americas are constantly and brilliantly showing, all question of interference by this Nation with their affairs would be at an…
In the late 1700s to the early 1800s, the people of South and Central American colonies began to rebel against the oppressive Spanish regime. Most of the revolutions were successful, and thus began the freedom of many nations and equality for their people. But without the intelligent and powerful revolutionary leaders, the colonies wouldn’t have had the same success. One of the most well known leaders, Simon Bolivar emerged triumphant from his movement for freedom, granting independence to those who fought with him. But his successes and motivations didn’t develop overnight. They were fueled by many different aspects of Bolivar’s life, stemming from type of people that he met and heard about, to his need for glory.…

Authority is an important resource for the state and any other organisation seeking to govern peoples conduct as it enables organisations and social actors that form parts of the state to direct aspects of social life. It also enables organisations to intervene to direct particular people or improve particular conditions. The relationship between the state and its territory is not pre-given but rather is a product of constant claims and the authority of the state has to be created and sustained.…
The Santa Cruz separatist movement presents an interesting contrast to the typical claims for autonomy. When referencing autonomy movements in Bolivia, scholars like Dinerstein (2015) focus entirely on indigenous claims to self-determination according to cultural traditions. As such, the field of autonomy is steeped in rhetoric of dignity, hope, and freedoms. Authors like Hurtado Hervas (2004) frames departmental autonomy as an instrument to deepen democratic practices and increase economic growth. Hurtado Hervas claims that because the state is overstretched, departmental autonomy enables better “political articulation” of Bolivian diversity within the plurinational state.…
To understand individual rights and public order there must be an understanding on what the advantages and disadvantages are. Many individuals don’t understand the power these two topics hold. They are also at times misinterpreted; some don’t now what their rights are and some think they know. On occasion some may try to abuse them when public order is in forced for example when making an arrest an officer reads you your rights, some individuals think if your rights are not read to you they may not make an arrest. This is were they feel as though their individual rights have been violated. Many are confused as to what they mean, and is why their needs to be an understanding of what the advantages and disadvantages are. Along this paper it will be discussed and given a view of what they mean and a conclusion about the issues at hand.…
There comes a time in a person's life when, they should be able to be independent of their decisions, choices, and parents. We have been told all our lives that we couldn’t do that , say that or eat that. Now, the time has come that we must declare our independence because we shall be able to make our own way in our life.…
A close ratiocination of the instances where there have been claims for self determination one can sufficiently claim that the right to self determination and the right of a state to its sovereignty are always at logger heads. When these two rights are pitted against each other, the quest here is for the determination of which rights supersedes the other in such scenarios. It can be referred to as a difficult balancing act. In today’s multi ethnic states there clearly have to be a balance, an acceptable equilibrium between a states sovereign power and the rights of minorities which international law has been extremely succinct about which affirms the commitment of international actors and policy makers to human dignity.…
