I will make a list of what I have to accomplish during the coming week, including class assignments and class participation. Being inclusive in my list of school work that must be done for the week is essential for making my schedule work. I will include curricular activities, personal daily tasks, errands, meals and time with friends on my list of things to do for the week. My daily living activities and curricular activities are important and provide balance in my schedule. I must plan accordingly with every aspect of my life included; I want to utilize my opportunity and not have any excuses or reasons that will take away from my school time and me reaching my goal. I will estimate how long each task will take me and plan properly. My activities take different amounts of time; I must effectively use and plan my time wisely, and allow the correct amount of time for the task planned from start to finish, so I don’t take away or neglect another task that is planned. Keeping in mind the amount of time the task will take and other things I must complete and do on the scheduled day, requires me to properly identify each task and the day on which I will accomplish it. I will plan my weekly schedule for the next week every Friday afternoon, before I begin my weekend. I’m committed to my strategy that I have reserved and the time I have set aside to successfully get the most out of my time.
Strategy number two is adjusting my daily schedule and following a daily to-do list referencing my

To help achieve my goals, I manage my time wisely, by creating weekly schedules with blocked times that are designated for studying, posting to Discussion Boards, checking emails, and working on assignments. My schedules are created with Google Calendar, because I can synch it with my cell phone. Organizing all I wish to do and accomplish in a way that reflects my values, however, is a promising place to start. Writing down my scattered thoughts and organizing my projects, something I learned from Making It all Work by David Allen, is also beneficial, as it allows me to be fully present during my next task. That is because every distraction has its place on a list. Likewise, by completing my Personal Scope and Personal Schedule, I was able to add some reality to my hopes for the year. By doing these exercises, I was able to better understand the amount of time at hand, the priority I should give to certain situations, and how to make my weekly life reflect the values I hold. It shook me slightly how much time my commitment to work, for example, took away from studying and socializing with friends. By putting my job under “assumption” on the Personal Scope I was better able to picture the time I have. This also allowed me to find a balance between the obligations that need to be met, my extracurriculars and my activities of interest, as well as specific time reserved for myself. This balance will be essential if I hope to complete this year at optimal mental and physical…

One of the most effective skills that I have refined during my time here is time management. Through the learning team presentations and mutual discussions, I have found new and better ways to manage my time effectively. This experience assisted our learning team in making the most of our time together. Jacobs and Hyman (2009) state that keeping a log and creating a study plan is the best way to start a course. In addition, a student can use this log and plan to better plan out the best times to work on upcoming assignments. The first thing I plan to do when I get home is to schedule out my study and homework time so I do not become overwhelmed in my next course. I feel…
