True American

My idea of what an American is could be considered old fashion and would probably fit better in Benjamin Franklin’s era than the current time period. Most people have heard the saying, “as American as mom, baseball and apple pie”, however, I feel that what makes a person an American is deeper and more meaningful than that. Being a true American involves pride, honor and responsibility. Real Americans take pride in our flag, the American people and our country. They should display the flag properly, at all times and not just on national holidays; and show due respect when the honor guard passes them during a parade.
