Harry S. Truman was born on May, 8 1884 and died on December 26, 1972. He was the 33rd U.S president from 1945-53. Truman became President of the United States with the death of Franklin D. Roosevelt on April 12, 1945. During his nearly eight years in office, Truman confronted enormous challenges in both domestic and foreign affairs. Being a man who experienced war and who was also a dedicated man to his country, Truman became a great leader. He was able to make magnificent changes in the U.S government that changed the way our government ran. He got rid of all the crooks and businessman and restored the power and the glory that American citizens deserved. Truman polices abroad and especially toward the Soviet Union in the emerging Cold War, would come staples of American foreign policy for generations. At home, Truman protected and reinforced the New Deal reforms of his predecessor, and guided the American economy from war-time to a peace-time footing, and also advanced the cause of African-American civil rights. During the eight year period in which he was the president, Truman made such essential and important changes in America, in which those presidents during or 20-21st century presidency couldn’t do with their entire presidency years combined. These changes that he made impacted the World and especially the American citizens in a very positive way. Harry S. Truman was a wise and an intelligent man who feared God and did everything he could for the country. In him, we can see a true leader, who deserves praise for his decisions and choices. That is why I believe Truman is among the nation’s best Presidents.
