Truman's Decision To Drop The Atomic Bomb

As the 33rd President of the United States, Harry S. Truman was unwillingly thrown into the stressful demand of ushering the lives of Americans through a gruesome world war. With bodies dropping at every attack, Truman erroneously believed that the only way to save thousands was to kill millions. Sadly, this world war’s pressure caused this abominable leader to make the gratuitous decision to drop a ghastly atomic bomb on the innocent people of Hiroshima. President Truman’s imprudent decision to squander the atomic bomb against the Japanese city of Hiroshima was pure butchery, was the result of his vulgar racism towards other nations, and was immorally unnecessary.
Some critics may argue that the use of the atomic bomb was completely the last option the United States had because “the Japanese military was refusing to give up their fight” (ushistory.org). That was what ultimately caused Truman to make the decision to drop the bomb. What they were careless in thinking about was that not all

The force and power behind this vicious bomb brutally murdered thousands and injured millions of these innocent Japanese women and children. Dr. Oppenheimer believed that the visual effect of an atomic bombing would be tremendous. He estimated the bombing to rise to “a height of 10,000 to 20,000 feet” (Oppenheimer) and that the neutron effect of the explosion to be dangerous to life for a radius of at least two-thirds of a mile. The explosive murdered millions of people because of its terrible impact. If the United States was trying to send the message to the Japanese but there was many other ways they could’ve done it. Instead they decided to kill not only men but also women and children. Harry S.
