Twenty One Pilots Research Paper
I can easily say that Twenty One Pilots is my favorite band. It consists of two guys, who just by looking at them makes your day 100 times better. Their music helps people, including me, overcome hard times in our life. The band you’re used to seeing perform together now didn’t look like that in the beginning. The two best friend duo you see now used to be a trio. After Tyler had idea of starting a band, the original Twenty One Pilots were formed in 2009 in Columbus, Ohio. The three-manned-band included Tyler Joseph, and his two friends Nick Thomas and Chris Salih. When asked about the band’s name in an interview with Tori Thomas from Under The Gun Review Tyler said “I was taking a theater class at Ohio State and one of the plays we were studying was called “All My Sons” by Arthur Miller. It’s been awhile since I read the play, but the gist of the plot line is this guy who makes air plane parts for the war at the time (WWII), found out that his parts were faulty, so he comes to a moral crossroads. He has to make a decision to send the parts out or recall the parts. Really it’s what’s the right thing to do. …show more content…
The band has been nominated 50 or so times and has won and received 14 awards. Some awards they have won include the Billboard Music Award for Top Rock Artist, the NRJ Music Award for International Breakthrough of the Year, the Kerrang! Award for Best Fanbase, MTV Europe Music Award Best Live Act, and the American Music Award for Favorite Pop/Rock Group. Some awards they were nominated for include the iHeartRadio Music Award Best Song from a Movie, iHeartRadio Music Award Best Lyrics, Tyler was nominated for 5 categories at the Grammy Awards including Record of the year, Best Rock Song, Best Song Written for Visual Media, Best Rock Performance, and Best Pop Duo/Group Performance, and Josh was nominated for the Alternative Press Music Award Best

I chose to write my paper on a man named Colonel Charles Edward McGee. He was born in Cleveland, Ohio, on December 7, 1919. His mother died when he was only one and he seems to have moved around place to place as a child. He first got interested in planes when he was in college after the bombing of Pearl Harbor. He knew that war was inevitable and he wrote down he wanted to be a pilot on his draft card. He was eventually sent over to Indiana for examination, which he passed. On October 27, 1942, he was sworn in and a few weeks later, sent to Tuskegee. He talks about being frustrated flying slow planes that flew at low altitude, and were basically too slow to even catch German planes. In May he was moved to the Fifteenth Air Force. “As the Allies advanced north, the bombers came up from Africa to bases in Italy, but they were getting their tails shot off over targets like Ploesti, so four single-engine fighter…

Before Twenty One Pilots was formed, Tyler and Josh lead different lives. Tyler was a star basketball player who had recently quit to create music. His first album was a solo EP which he named No Phun Intended. While Tyler was writing music for future projects, Josh was a touring drummer for rock band House Of Heroes and working part-time at a guitar center with Chris Salih, who would later introduce Josh to Tyler and help form Twenty One Pilots.…

During the time right after the cold war, the United States and the Soviet Union became engaged in a “Space Race” to see which country could get a man on the moon first and ultimately claim space for their nation. The Soviet Union led the way by sending the first satellite into space and then the first human. On April 12, 1961, Yuri Gagarin was the first human to go into space and make a complete orbit around the earth. Yuri was a Russian Soviet pilot and cosmonaut. He became an international celebrity over night. He returned to earth as a national hero in his country. His flight is still the shortest flight, 108 minutes from launch to landing. Although Yuri moved up the ranks in the Soviet Air Force, he was banned from the space program.…

As a lot of people say that the Air Force is the “Chair Force”, that is just a opinion that isn't true based off of my opinion and Colonel Hinsch’s. Like every branch in the military there are jobs that doesn't deal with physical labor. Just as there are jobs in every branch of the military that keeps people moving. I had the privilege to have a interview with Colonel Hinsch, he is now retired from the Air Force with 23 1/2 .…

Music is important for many people; it often enhances their lives and gives them something to look forward too. Music can also bring different groups of people together and friendships can grow. In 3rd grade, I started listening to bands such as My Chemical Romance, Fall Out Boy, and Blink-182 because my older brother was listening to them at that time. When I first started listening to the music, I just liked the sound of it, however as I grew up the music developed more meaning for me. I started to understand what the lyric meant and the music was catchy, as well as, making you feel as you belonged. Pete Wentz has always been vocal about his anxiety and depression, which helped me out with mine because it showed how I was not alone, and even my idols had to go through hard times. My first concert my parents ever let me go to was in 2013, when Fall Out Boy had just come back from hiatus, and was performing at the Jingle Ball in Sacramento with Panic! at the Disco and other artists. Since then, I have been to all of Fall Out Boy’s summer tours. While my music taste has grown, I still mostly listen to variations of pop punk music, which many of the bands in today’s pop punk scene were inspired by Fall Out Boy and those…

Since they changed from their hip-hop, break dancing style, they have been classified as an Alternative, an Alternative Rap, a Club/Dance, a Hip-Hop, a Pop, a Pop-Rap, an R&B and a Rock band (Bush n. pag.). This is because of the group's varied music and vocals in every song, which makes it confusing to determine what type of music they are. Most people consider it Pop, some thinks it is Rock. But in my opinion, they are their own genre of music. It is amazing how they can pull this off in this time of Hip-Hop and R&B and be well-known for their diversity in music. But their vocal talents and unique ways of creating music makes them my utmost, favorite band because they express themselves in a different way like no other artist nor artists have…

Many people have skydiving on their bucket lists, however my first time jumping out of a perfectly good plane wasn't for pleasure, but rather because it was required. The jumpmaster opens the door of the C-130, wind rushing by our faces as we make our way to the exit. As I take a leap out of the door, count to four seconds and check my parachute. I look around and it’s quiet, no sounds except your own thoughts as you fall back to the ground from 1200 feet. You prepare to hit the ground, not knowing what to expect, just relieved you survived your first airborne experience.…

We have always dreamed about reaching the heavens. From ancient civilizations to the modern day world, our obsession of going into space has grown from studying the stars to actual exploration of space. We have come a long way since primitive charts of constellations. From telescopes to satellites, we as a population have progressed greatly in the world of technology. In a mere forty years, we have had more technological advances than the Industrial Revolution. The Space Race has affected our everyday lives; we use the same technology that the astronauts used during their missions for example digital clocks (Dismukes http://spaceflight.nasa.gov). Many industries have benefited, communication companies, industrial manufacturers, and the…
