Two-Bit, Dally, Ponyboy, And Johnny
My favorite characters are Two-Bit, Dally, Ponyboy, and Johnny. I like these characters because I can either relate to these characters or I find these hilarious characters in this book. My least favourite characters are the rich kids. Mainly the ones who beat up Johnny and left him on the street. The thing I hate about this is that these kids left him like it was nothing, they didn’t care if the injuries they gave him were going to kill Johnny if the other greasers hadn’t found him. Johnny is not only one of my favourite characters, but I feel like I can relate to him the most. I feel like I can relate to him the most because I don’t talk very much and I can get scared of some things easily. I’m not one for watching the sunsets or sunrises, unlike Ponyboy, but I …show more content…
Some of the places that I want to go is Paris, France. I want to go to Paris, France because of the art they have there, which I guess I can also relate to Ponyboy too. It makes me sad that Johnny dies before he gets to see some other new places that can contain much beauty. If Ponyboy or any of the younger guys/girls in this book were still alive to this day, I’d think they would be grandparents, or about the age of being a grandparent. I’d think that Ponyboy continued in school, got a college degree and met a nice woman to marry. For Sodapop, I think he ended up having the best gas station in the city. As for Darry, I would like to think that he got a job that would pay him more money that he ever have earned before and that he now has more time to hang out with his brothers. I enjoyed reading this book. This book wasn’t exactly happy, I think it represented the realism of life was like back then and how hard it was like for the poor and the rich. We still have problems to this day between the rich and the poor, like bullying. Although, in this book it was being jumped, harassed, robbed, and (in Ponyboy’s case) almost being

As can be seen, when Johnny jumps into the flames to save the kids without a second thought, it shows his bravery. Not only does he willingly go into a dangerous situation for somebody else, but does so without much consideration for his own life. Additionally, Johnny proves to be a positive character when he, in his dying breaths, tells Ponyboy to stay true to himself. His last words are, “Stay gold,…

He comes from an extremely abusive home and needs the greaser gang just as much as they needed him. He needs them for protection and a sense of purpose. While the gang needs him because Johnny gives them a sense of purpose and justification of their violence without Johnny, the gang would be next to nothing. Johnny has big black eyes, a tanned face, jet-black hair with grease in it and has a slight build. Due to his father constantly beating him and his mother who always ignores him the greasers are always looking out for Johnny and trying to protect him. Dally who is the leader of the greasers especially watches out for Johnny, in return he hero worships Dally. Throughout the novel Johnny changes at various times. First a usually mild and quiet Johnny murders Bob and then takes control of the situation proven by when he told Ponyboy to go to Dally knowing he will get them out of trouble and when he goes out and gets supplies. For example, his relationship with Cilla becomes romantic, while at the same time his relationship with Dove becomes parental. Also, when Johnny visits the dying Rab, Dr. Warren cautions him that he has to “play a man’s role” and he does that very well by keeping his emotions in check. Furthermore, at the end of the story though he very much wishes to run to Grandshire Silsbee and tell him that has Rab has died he knows that Silsbee can’t be bothered because he has an important role.…

One of my favorite characters was Josh, since he is one of the only characters that seems to act of his own free will, ignoring the attitudes and beliefs of those around him, and giving the appearance of being free from the restraints of the racial inequality that surround the African-Americans in the story. Josh would rather die than be subservient and treated like an animal. I at first found this admirable but was later sad to read that his hatred got the…
