In today’s time, open carry is discussed by both politicians and the common man, but should it be allowed? Would open carry add to the danger that is already present in society today, or would it help in reducing crime and many other dangers that exist today? While both sides of this argument can be valid, open carry should be considered because of the following: it helps to reduce crime, it will help common people from getting in trouble because of what they are carrying, and it helps protect police officers, but first what is open carry?…
II. Gun Control simply wouldn’t be a good idea and is not the answer to this ongoing problem. Our right to bear arms should not be taken away. The only thing this would accomplish is taking away the right and protection for those who do make good choices. Criminals have and will find other ways to commit their crimes. So, I hope that the next time the gun control debate comes up; you will take a stand and be able to voice why gun control will not work.…
Gun control can be looked at from many different viewpoints from many different people. Some people believe that all crime will be stopped while others think it will only increase. Guns should not be banned in the U.S because banning them will not make the killers stop, good people need to help, and making guns illegal will just lead to people disobeying the law.…
The amount of deaths has rapidly reduced because of all the gun laws that have been created. Statistics show overtime deaths have been reduced because of after a big siege happens, it will get investigated on how the guns were bought etc. Once they have figured that out they started the add a law that you had to have a gun licence to use one. I believe that the gun laws have been improved throughout Australia the most because statistics show that the most deaths happen in America because of all the different gun laws.…
As Americans we have civil liberties. Civil liberties are basic rights and freedoms that are guaranteed to American citizens (Thompson). For example, as Americans one of our civil liberties is to keep and bear arms. In our society, this civil liberty has become an issue due to several incidents involving firearms. Therefore, a bill has been constructed threatening our right to bear arms. I feel that as Americans we have many reasons that we should have this civil liberty is because the right to bear arms involved in the second and fourth amendments. The second amendment clearly states “a well-regulated militia, being necessary to the security of a free state, the right if the people to keep and bear arms, shall not be infringed. If our government can take away our rights like it’s nothing, then what else can they take from us? We have many rights as Americans. The right to bear arms is one of the biggest. Some of the reasons why we shouldn’t have guns banned are second and fourth amendments, hunting, they will not end deaths, and how there are many other reasons of death that we should be worried about. Although these are just among the few that I have mentioned there are plenty more reasons why Americans should be able to have guns in our nation.…
Gun Safety has been a big topic that people are speaking of all the time. The Second Amendment says that citizens have the right to bear arms. That amendment was created for militias as America had become free and they didn’t want any surprise attacks from Britain incase they tried to take America back, now America and Britain are close allies. Everyday on the news there’s always a shooting and maybe it’s because guns are easy to access. I do not think that civilians need guns. Now some might argue that the police are corrupt and that they don’t want to rely on the police to do something that they can handle but that is their job. If guns are banned than their needs to be higher protection against smuggling as criminals will obviously not…
Gun control in the United States has become a highly controversial topic over the years. There have been plenty of debates on the gun control laws and people have taken to being either pro gun control laws or anti gun control laws. One thing we can’t deny would be that gun control laws would keep us all safer and even save lives. Statistic show that more guns equals to more homicide cases. If more citizens have easy access to guns, they’re more likely to kill than if they didn’t have easy access to the guns. Public places like schools, restaurants, and churches are not acceptable places for people to be carrying guns; it puts the public in danger. It should be illegal.…
The debate over the restrictions of gun control is centered on the Second Amendment to the Constitution, which gives people the right to bear arms. Gun control supporters believe that this explicit right does not extend to ownership of military-style firearms. For example, groups like the National Rifle Association argue that gun control infringes on the constitutional rights of law-abiding citizens. Gun control is an on-going debate because each year more people are killed by the use of guns. However, guns are not the result in the number of homicides each year, the problems rests with the irresponsible gun users. Gun Control would do nothing but harm America because guns offer protection and security…
Guns do a lot of bad, but do a lot more good for society. Banning guns will not stop the problem, but will just make it worse. Guns are apart of our society as Americans they have been around since colonial years, and are not leaving anytime soon. “The number of guns in America has increased by more than 50 percent since 1993, and in that same period the gun homicide rate in the United States has dropped by half. (Kristof, The Times).” Guns offer protection for individuals. One day you could be in the wrong place at the wrong time, and a shooting breaks out, you will pray there is someone else there with a concealed firearm to help control the situation while waiting for police to arrive. They can’t do that if guns are banned. “We need to understand that we cannot stop crimes and murders. And banning guns would be a step, or two, backwards instead of moving forward in the right direction (The Times News).” The research conducted to produce this paper was drawn from a multitude of sources all with different…
Gun has been a problem for a long time the United States. Gun control is the regulation of the sale, manufacture, ownership, modification of firearms by the government. Different countries have different gun control laws. Some countries have stricter gun control laws while some are less strict gun control laws than others. In United State, our gun control laws are lacking in general. Different states have different state's gun control laws. Gun is easy to purchase in our country In California, you just need to get a license to have the privilege to purchase a gun. Many of these guns are legally registered, but also many are illegally owned by citizens. There are…
Gun control is a controversial and divisive issue in our routine life, not only in the United States, but also all over the world. Basically, gun control refers to governmental efforts to limit or restrict the production, sale, possession and use of guns by private citizens. Some people believe that it is necessary that federal and state laws allow citizens to purchase and possess guns, or even actively require adult citizens to maintain weapons in their house, and periodically to train in their use. However, others think gun control is indispensable in our society because gunshots are the main cause of death in the United States. As for me, I prefer to support the second view because guns are lethal and the fewer people that have them the better. The only function of a gun is to kill. The more instruments of death are removed from our society, the safer we will be. With my research, I found a lot of striking data about guns menacing people’s lives. There should be gun control in the United States because guns are a menace to people’s lives.…
Banning guns all together would never work in this country, to many people own one or more guns and very few would freely hand their weapons over to the government. To many American’s support the second amendment for anything to be passed and I also believe that if it was passed that people would fight to keep the guns they have. The government would literally have to go to every house in United States and search them for all fire arms if all weapons are banned, and that just isn’t possible. Also, making guns harder to get would not affect most criminals to get guns because the majority of…
At this point in time, with gun incidents increasing, to me gun control is our only option, but some say gun control isn’t needed. Unfortunately, the United States as a whole has a split decision. Most people continue to believe that “more guns, fewer shootings” is the answer, and that firearm related incidents are decreasing as time goes on. These people are wrong. The debate about gun control needs to end. People's lives are in danger and they need…
I believe that guns should not be banned in the US. “Guns don’t kill people, people kill people.” I am sure most of us have heard this saying at some point in our lives. Surely, it is a statement of the obvious, but the logic behind it rings true. It may seem rational to ban guns entirely to prevent people from killing, but it is not the guns themselves that are the problem. That is just a simple solution to a complex problem. The criminals who kill others are willing to break the law and risk going to prison for the rest of their lives to murder, yet they are expected to follow firearm laws? If a nationwide gun ban is enacted, criminals will not suddenly follow the law and reject the thought of buying a firearm on the black market. Banning all guns in the United States would be irrational because it would not lower crime or prevent firearm-related murders.…
In america we need to get rid of or make stricter rules for gun control. There is too much shooting in this country that is killing thousands of innocent adults, it helps people rob stores and banks, and lastly guns kill a lot of children in school shootings that have happened plenty of times over the years. Guns should be illegal in this country for many of reasons. We need to change something about this situation.…
