Environmental influences-

By doing this, you can become more aware of others’ needs and also of your own needs. Sudden differences are by some people difficult to react too quickly and because of this a wrong reaction can be made (unconsciously) leading to miss understandings. A good example is to observe an autistic person who literally panics if sudden changes occur and disrupt his/her routines. (Stretch and Whitehouse 2010)
Careful use of Language-
The use of language forms part of the core value base which lies at the centre of health and social care. People need to be aware of others and the way of communicating to others as they need to understand what you are saying. Remember, if someone does not what you have said, it might have not explained yourself clearly enough. Always be careful to ensure that you communicate with people using their preferred method of communication. The choice of words will affect the relationships with colleagues and those using services so be careful about what you say and how you say it. (Stretch and Whitehouse 2010)

There may be some people that have strong beliefs, their religion and culture may play a major role in their life. For example, if there is a patient that is a Muslim, Muslims have a specified way to kill animals, that way it can be considered Halal. This can be discrimination if the care workers do not take in to account the service user individual needs. If the service user does not receive the right food, they may try to starve themselves can then lead to more problems such as the service user becoming more ill, it can also lead to death, if death occurs in the healthcare setting the care workers will then investigate to regard the food that was being served. To avoid these problems, the care workers should ask the service user what kind of food they would prefer, so when they have their meal times there will be a variety of food available for them to choose which is suitable for them. This is all part of considering and respecting their diversity. (Stretch and Whitehouse,
