In today’s society many people have different perspectives on how one should assign value to life. Many individuals decide with their emotions, especially when they are assigning value to a loved one. People live in this world where standards are made, where everyone has to meet those standards in order to be accepted. Although we all have our different ideas of life, everyone tries to be accepted. Everyone plays a role, and even though someone isn’t famous, he or she would still have the ability to make a difference. The things one does in life, how one is able to deal with obstacles that pop up in life, and family relationships are the things society should use to assign value to life.
When it comes to valuing life, one thing that stands out the most is what one can accomplish and achieve in life .Steve Jobs states “Remembering that I’ll be dead soon is the most important tool I’ve ever encountered to help me make the big choices in life” (Jobs). People should take chances for what they want in life, instead of fearing failure, and follow their dreams and goals in life. Nothing is ever free and one has to work hard for what one wants in life. He is also stating that people should not die with any regrets in life. “But that the dread of something after death… No traveler returns, puzzles the will, and makes us rather bear those ills we have than fly to others that we know not of?” (Hamlet). This is showing how we fear the unknown and how we prefer to stay in the known then take a chance to explore. In life one needs to have no regrets and do the things he or she wants to do because one does not know what comes after life, so one should try to live life to the fullest.
