The way that these people in the show are becoming a useful member in “society” aka the restaurant is that they find out who to be friends with and who not to be and once they find that out they socialize with them and start to be one of them and act like them in order to fit in and do well at the restaurant. In order for them to do well at the restaurant they need to be out of as much drama as possible. They need to know what to say and who to say what to.
