Ever wondered why vegetarians do not eat meat? There are a lot of reasons and especially how people think of it. Vegetarians are people who maintain a strict diet of grains, dairy products, fish, vegetables, fruits and eggs. People can choose to eat some particular foods like vegetables, fruits and grains or everything without meat. They can make their own combinations of foods in their diet. According to ‘Kids Health’ foundation, a vegetarian diet is healthy as long as you are getting enough nutrition from it. It does not matter about eating meat, it is a very healthy diet that encourages eating more vegetables and fruits and it also replaces the need of proteins with various foods. In the next few paragraphs, I will explain why vegetarians do not eat meat and what a healthy diet it is.
Vegetarian diet is a healthy diet, rich in fruits, vegetables, and grains tend to be low in fat and cholesterol, which is good for your heart. The risk of developing heart disease among meat-eaters is 50 per cent higher than it is among vegetarians. It's also likely to be high in fiber and can be lower in calories. According to the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine, "Vegetarians are about 40 percent less likely to get cancer than non-vegetarians, regardless of other risks such as smoking or body size. A common question is, ‘Do vegetarian get enough nutrition?’ Vegetarians eat many plant sources such as grains, nuts, seeds, beans, whole grains and soy products to fulfill the place of protein, vitamins and minerals. If you eat enough portions of vitamins and minerals in each meal, it is nutritious and helpful for growth of children.
Vegetarians often think themselves as friends of our nature. People think they are friends of living beings. Animals are there to survive and live a great life and another reason why vegetarians do not eat meat. A recent United Nations news report Livestock's Long Shadow concludes that eating meat is "one of the top two or three most significant contributors to the most serious environmental problems, at every scale from local to global". The report finds that eating meat causes almost 40 per cent more greenhouse-gas emissions than all the cars, trucks, ships and planes in the world combined. You are wondering why? It is because of transportation, agricultural, industrial causes and etc. It takes more land to raise animals for food than it does to produce the same nutrition value by raising edible plants. Rain forests are being destroyed to make room for huge cattle ranches which are also a reason for greenhouse effect. Different people have different tastes. Nobody can force someone to like what they do not. Just like those vegetarians do not like the taste of meat, they like the taste of vegetables and fruits. There are people who are allergic to meat too, so they are forcefully eating it to survive. Some people do not eat meat because of religious reasons and some do not eat because of cultural reasons. They do not eat because they like to keep the tradition of their ancestors and stay healthy. In all of the paragraphs in this essay, I explained that why vegetarians do not eat meat. I told the reasons and also told that it is a very healthy lifestyle as long as you are getting all the nutrition. Vegetarians live 6 to 10 years longer on average than meat-eaters do. Healthy vegetarian diets support a lifetime of good health and provide protection against numerous diseases. This essay tells that being vegetarian is as healthy as non- vegetarian, now this is your decision to choose a healthy lifestyle that fits with you.

A vegetarian diet is a diet that consists of non-meat products and sometimes the omission of other animal by-products. Many health benefits come from the foods that are reduced or omitted as well as from the foods that are consumed. The similarities in the various kinds of vegetarian diets are the high consumption of fruit, vegetables, soy, nuts, and legumes. Overall, they tend to have a lower intake of saturated fat and cholesterol and the higher intakes of complex carbohydrates, dietary fiber, certain minerals, and phytochemicals. Cholesterol is only found in animal foods, so vegetarian diets are completely cholesterol-free.…

Vegetarians sometimes leave out key nutrients they need to be consumed due to how life interferes with diets a lot of the time. Some of those key nutrients include calcium, iodine, iron, omega-3 fatty acids, protein, vitamin B-12, vitamin D, and zinc. To make sure the supplements are not left out there need to be alternatives. Calcium is an essential for maintaining strong bones and for nerve health, while there are some vegetarians who choose not to remove dairy from their diets completely, there are others who do. Dairy is not the only food with it, vegetables like kale, choy, and broccoli also contain calcium. Iron is also a big one, it contributes in the process of making hemoglobin, which carries oxygen in the blood. Iron deficiencies are more common in women than men already so to reduce this in vegetarians as well nuts and dried fruits are needed. Protein is probably the most worried about in a vegetarian diet but what people don't realize is that protein is in everything we eat, from spinach to nuts and…

A very common misconception is the mislabeling and generalization of those considering themselves to be vegetarians. Vegetarian is used to describe people who exclude meat, poultry, fish, or any other animal derived food from their diet. However, within the generalized term "vegetarian" come numerous different forms of the lifestyle, each classified based on the degree to which animal products are excluded from their diet and the reasoning such as ethical, religious, health. The different groups of vegetarianism fall along an imaginary spectrum, with semi-vegetarians, who are often excluded entirely due to behaviors conflicting with the practice, on one end of the spectrum and at the opposite end are vegans, the strictest of vegetarianism. The semi vegetarians, or those who exclude animal products from their lifestyle to some degree, are often banished by true vegetarians. This is partially due to the fact that semi vegetarians consume some sort of animal products, thereby contradicting the definition of the term. However, semi vegetarians' motivations are highly different. Some are obligated by religious beliefs to refrain from eating particular types of meats. Others follow the lifestyle for health concerns; say perhaps a person chooses to not eat red-meat because of cholesterol problems. Another possible motivation would be pure personal preference. Even though semi vegetarians fall short, they still obtain some of the positive health benefits that vegetarianism brings. Although meat is both healthy and harmful to your body it has its own…

There are different kinds of vegetarians. Some vegetarians do not eat beef or red meet, but they eat chicken and fish. Some do not eat red meat, chicken and fish, but they eat cheese, butter, eggs, milk, and other animal products. Other vegetarians do not use anything that comes from an animal. Some don’t wear wool because it harms the sheep, don’t use silk because it hurt silkworms, and don’t eat honey because they do not want to hurt bees. Other vegetarians only eat vegetables; however, they do not kill plants. For examples, they will not eat carrots or potatoes because when they pick them, the plant dies. They will eat apples or pears because picking them does not harm the plant. Some vegetarians do not kill or hurt any animals – not even fly or a mosquito! Can you believe? There are many different types of vegetarians, and there are many different people, who are vegetarian.
