Messaging refers to ways leaders can communicate while focusing the organization’s efforts on creativity and innovation that address change and the adaptive challenge. Internal messaging is information passed to employees, shareholders, stockholders and the company’s board of directors. Information can be sent via memo or email. Some information may be shared through conference calls or in person meetings. External messaging is used to let the customers or public know about a service or product or any company changes or company events.
Communication plays a vital role in an organization. communication is only successful when both the sender and the receiver understand the same information as a result of the communication. By successfully getting your message across, you convey your thoughts and ideas effectively. When not successful, the thoughts and ideas that you convey do not necessarily reflect your own, causing a communications breakdown and creating roadblocks that stand in the way of your goals.
HCL Technologies uses a wide variety of communication skills to relay information to employees, shareholders, and customers. In 2009 three hundred HCL managers prepared and recorded plans to post on a My Blueprint portal, which is a social network called that allows managers to share plans for their specific business areas and receive feedback from another 8,000 colleagues, including those both above and below them in the hierarchy. The planning process was now a peer to peer review rather than a top-down judgment, which now transferred the responsibility of change from Nayar to HCL employees.
