Volunteering in the Public Services
Volunteering is very important because it helps a lot to make the country a better place, it also gives something from the person to make them feel good about themselves to no they have helped and done it in their own free time. Something named the compact is to do with volunteering it is where the government have an agreement with the voluntary and community sector which outlines a way of working that improves the relationship for mutual advantage, in other words helping each other as best as they can. The Compact offers improved funding processes, clear consultation standards, and an overall improvement in working relationships. So organisations shouldn’t wait until things go wrong before using it, as its always there to help as best as possible.
Volunteering is part of the big society launched in 2010 by the conservative manifesto trying to make England a better place, its ran by David Cameron, he's said he is making a new attempt to explain his own vision of how Britain should be. Even though some people are totally against this David says he will still carry on to try and make Britain a better place, the big society is about charities and more active roles in the public services as well as other things to, he wants to do this not simply to get more volunteers but to give people something to do if they want to do it they have the choice. The more voluntary work people are doing without getting paid is helping the recession a lot, as people aren't getting paid but we are starting new things and helping things to develop so maybe new jobs will come along in the future. By doing this we will make the society a much better and stronger place to live in, it take time but something good will hopefully come out of it in the

Thank you, Angie, for the feedback. The volunteers help others without any intentions of self-gain. They wanted to serve others and aim at the betterment of the people they serve. Volunteering is similar to work but very different. This is because in volunteering the person does not receive a paycheck to accomplish the work that is needed to be done. The similarity is that an action is taking place no matter if you get paid or not. Many organizations even individuals need help. There are volunteer jobs that just require you to have genuine empathy for those in need. For example, New Orleans is in need of volunteers because of what happened with Hurricane Katrina. Many things were destroyed and many people died, but they are rebuilding and hopefully within time they will succeed in rebuilding. It is not just the rebuilding that needs to be done. Volunteering leaves the individual with a comforting satisfaction that they helped those in need. Unfortunately, not every one can do…

Volunteers can be found at many different types of organizations and are an important part of the work that is done by many nonprofit organizations (NPO). When working with volunteers there are many different aspects that have to be looked at for the volunteers and the organization to be successful. An organization like a NPO that utilizes volunteers has to make sure that they are aware of the liabilities that come with using volunteers. This is very important since every year there are over ninety million Americans that donate their time to organizations as volunteers (Grossman & Furano, 2000). This is one reason that an organization needs to make sure that they have a successful volunteer manager or volunteer management team in place. Volunteers do not only need a successful volunteer management team, but a successful volunteer recruitment and retention team is needed so that those volunteers that are an asset to an organization are given a reason to continue to volunteer for that organization. Without the retention team, volunteers are not going to want to continue to give their time to the organization.…

Students improve their academic skills by applying what they learn in school to the real world; they then reflect on their experience to reinforce the link between their service and their learning. Service Learning is often confused with volunteering and communication services. Both activities are a form of service within a community and they do not necessarily include a structured educational connection for participants, which is a foundation of all service-learning projects. . Volunteerism is the reliance of volunteers working towards helping a specific social,…

One of my passions is volunteering to assist others, which I have done in a variety of ways. During a prior semester, I had spent a few hours a week volunteering for an on campus food pantry, recently started to help stunt the increasing poverty levels of college students. The keystone of my volunteering activities was when I had traversed across continents, to a small eastern country in Africa known as Malawi. I had stayed there nearly a month, in that time, I had mentored the youth; delivered blankets, food and other resources to an orphanage; befriended the natives, and many other things. Helping others and making other human lives easier is what makes me tick, and I desire to continue helping in various ways. Whether five miles or five…

During the summer of 2014 I volunteered for the Boys And Girls Club which was located at Mary Ward (3850 Finch AV E, Scarborough, ON M1T 3T6). The dates I volunteered at this program was in early July of 2014 for two weeks. I decided to volunteer at this organization because I was willing to help children tackle problems that they faced. As well, I enjoyed assisting children to develop skills and knowledge that they needed in order to reach their full potential. During my time of volunteer at the Boys and Girls club my role was to take care of children and help them with whatever they needed. I also helped set up various activities such as sports and games. In addition, I dealt with several conflicts between the children and made sure that…
