Worst Soccer Experience By: Johnny Ocampo

“ You`ll be ok, it doesn't look broken ,” my dad said. “ Put an icepack immediately on your hand ,“ my mother added as i grasped my hand in pain. It was an aching night that Sunday.

Second, the game was getting rougher and rougher . I was the only one pressuring now since my teammates were giving up. I tried cheering them up by saying , “ Come on there's still time left.”. No one was attacking the guy with the ball and I tried telling them to pressure him but I knew they weren't going to do it. So I went towards him but he went towards me . The next thing I knew i was on the floor grasping my hand in pain . I Tried getting up, but my pain didn't let me go on so I immediately left the field . Then, i noticed i had a bump by my thumb .

Then, as soon as the game finished , i left The Soccer Place with my team . My coach asked me , “ Are you ok?” I answered , “ no .” Then i showed her my bump . She told me , “ Go to a doctor immediately ,” then i nodded . As soon as my dad picked me up , i showed him my bump he asked , “ What happened?” I answered , “ I got pushed and landed on my arm .” He said , “ Why didn't they put ice on your arm ? ” I answered , “ they didn't have ice .” He ended our conversation by saying ,” Well as soon as we get home , put ice pack on your arm so it doesn't get really bad.” That night i slept with an arm sling made out of bandannas . The next day we went to the doctor to get my hand checked up .

Fourth, at 2 in the afternoon , we went to the doctor . When we were at the doctor the first thing they asked me was how it happened . After we were done we went to a desk , where a lady asked me questions i felt like a famous person getting questions asked from paparazzi . When a doctor called us, we followed like he was a line leader and after we got to the room he told me to put a blue hospital gown on. After that , a woman came in and took me a room where i got x-rays and then 15 minutes

I felt a sharp jab, a pain in the heel of my foot and looked down at it. Protruding from my foot was a pin sporting the headshot of the current goalkeeper of the Atlanta Thrashers. My sister, Melanie, noticed and started to freak out. She screamed and called for my dad in the living room. I was strangely calm about the whole thing, and just stared at the pin in my foot. The sharp end of the pin…

I stroll back up to the clubhouse. When I am next to the kiddie pool, I hear “ouch” followed by tears. I whip around and a toddler is on the pool deck with a bloody toe. When his mother comes to console him, I escort the sobbing toddler and his mother to the clubhouse. I grab the first aid kit and latex gloves. I first put on Neosporin, which makes the child cry a little more. He starts to calm down after I place a band-aid on him. His mother thanks me for my help.…

In the Bill of Rights, the Second Amendment to the Constitution reads: A well regulated Militia, being necessary to the security of a free State, the right of the people to keep and bear Arms shall not be infringed. Gun control proponents have argued and some federal courts have ruled that the Second Amendment does not apply to individual citizens of the United States but only to members of militias, which, they assert, are now the state National Guard units. In 2002, a federal appeals court panel ruled that "the people" only "have the right to bear arms in the service of the state.” Gun rights proponents have argued and some federal courts have ruled that the Second Amendment recognizes "an individual right to keep and bear arms." In 2001, a federal appeals court panel ruled that the Second Amendment "protects the right of individuals, including those not then actually a member of any militia or engaged in active military service or training, to privately possess and bear their own firearms..” James Madison was the primary author of the Bill of Rights, is known as the "Father of the Constitution" for his central role in its formation, and was one of three authors of the Federalist Papers, a group of essays published in newspapers and books to explain and lobby for ratification of the Constitution.…

As a defender I’ve learned when the perfect time to attack the ball is. The girl was running onto what we call a “through ball”. It was a fifty, fifty ball. We both came in on the ball hard and fearless. It all happened so fast. We both hit the ball at the same time, my foot on one side and hers on the other. Next thing I knew I was looking at the night sky with the bottom part of my left leg pointed out. Almost as in a “L” shape. The pain hit right away. I remember my reaction was immediately tears. All I wanted to do was try and move it, but I…

Through all the broken bones I had over the years from jumping and diving I never once complained, I always aimed to finish. ‘’No one was going to wear my gloves!’’ I thought. My injury’s started with a broken arm. It happened at a practice but I brushed it off and was thrilled to play at Soccer Park the next day. When the ball hit my hand I would feel like screaming but I had no substitute and didn’t want to let my teammates down. I wrapped my arm and hoped for the best. The most recent, dramatic injury of my life was a shattered sesamoid. I was playing in the 1st day of a tournament when a girl stomped powerfully on the bottom of my foot. I continued to play although I knew something was wrong. The pain grew every second, I looked down to see the bottom of my cleat was shattered. I could barely move my toes but I didn’t give up. I played the 2nd day and the following week. Two weeks later my…

I waited out in the cold and snow for what seemed like forever. I eventually saw our car pull up to the park. I saw my dad and my brother get out of the car and hurry towards me. When they got to me, my dad picked me up and carried me to the car. We got in and he drove me home. Then he helped me get out of the car. The pain was so bad I had to hop to the door. Once inside our house, I hopped over to the couch, and laid down.…

As I was running to first I looked up to find where I had hit the ball. I watched it bounce off the top of the fence and come back into the ballpark. As I came around first base my coach was yelling at me to go to second, but as I stepped on the bag I felt a sharp pain in my left foot. I kept running but not very fast. I made it to second, and when I got there my foot hurt incredibly bad. The next batter was able to get a base hit, and I scored from second, even though my foot was killing me.…

I shout at the top of my lounges directing my defenders left and right to rapidly set up a wall and get in place to prevent the ball ending up in the back of the net. Finally the opposing team winds up to take the kick and strikes the ball with full force towards goal, and I take a step to the right and completely stretch out my body to deflect the ball away from the goal. However, as I stretch and tip the ball away from the goal; here comes an opposing player blistering towards my way and swings his right foot with full force and misses the ball but impacts with my nose. I lay flat face down on the turf hearing footsteps pound against the turf towards my direction and the referee blow his whistle indicating to stop the game. I fell the little pebbles from the turf from sticking one by one to my arms as I roll over on the turf, however I cannot not feel my face all I sense is my face tingling from my the bottom of my chin to the top of my forehead and warmth throughout my body. When I finally roll over I cannot see a thing, everything looks blurry as if I were wearing glasses effecting my vision. I rise to my feet and hear the referee…

My sophomore year while playing in a football game, I tackled a player from the other team right before half-time. While I was making the tackle, I felt a pop in my knee. It wasn’t very painful because of the adrenaline in my system at the time but the next day the pain came. It felt like there was a rubber band getting caught on my knee and coming off almost every step I took. I just put this pain aside through part of basketball season until the pain was too much and I went to get a check up, then a MRI, then before i knew it I had to get surgery for a torn meniscus. This ended my basketball season. After surgery I went to my rehab physical therapist Dr. Marty in Centralia. He got my knee back in good working order after…

At this particular tournament, we had to play on a church field that was all grass, including the infield. This field was so awful you couldn’t tell where the infield started and where the outfield began. It was my turn up at bat, and as I swung my powder puff pink bat, I cracked the ball deep into left field. I ran to first. Then I rounded my way to second base, and at this point I turned and looked and thought I could make it to third base. I made it to third, but as I was turning to run home, I slipped on the wet grass and fell flat on my face. As I got up to run back, I was caught up in a back and forth of hot box to get me out. I was run down to the point that every time I tried to get up, I fell again and fell at home plate. I then proceeded to go back to third, so I wouldn’t be tagged out. Then it happened again. I slipped and fell head first at third and was tagged out on my head. When I finally got up, I realized what had happened, and I had grass stained scraps and cuts all up and down my legs and face. I was so mad at myself because I knew that the grass was wet, and all I could think about was getting in a run to tie up the game. I rushed myself and it cost the team a scoring…
