Weinstein Sun Dogs
Martin Weinsteins’ Sun Dogs is a beautiful art piece. It would bring your mind to ease looking at this piece and have you imagining that you are there. The art depicts a field of green nature, with a gorgeous view of two mountains with bodies of water in front of them, and bright blue slightly clouded sky. It reminds me of something that can be seen in a country like Norway where it is full of greenery, vast mountains, and bodies of water. Imagine yourself standing in front of a large canvas and critiquing the art piece from the bottom up. In the bottom left area of the painting you see a group of trees that are light green on its top leaves but a darker green for the leaves not seen. There is one subjected tree with a form behind that looks like it is a rose bush with its bright red flowers. Past that rose bush like figure the trees go beyond it blurring out. Now you are focusing on the bottom middle. There is a small splotch of dark brown that looks as though it is a bare area in the green field. In that bare area there lightly stroked white small lines that depict a flower or weed. Looking over the right side of the painting, you now see on the middle right side there is a huge splotch of red with a yellow …show more content…
Behind this body of water, there is a dark grey form of a stretched out mountain. Beyond that mountain, there is a darker shade of blue water with its own dark shade of a grey formed mountain. Above each mountain there are white, sort of fluffy, long clouds hovering over and are about the same length as the subject they hover over. This brings you to focus on the top section of the art. The brightly lit, light blue, slightly cloudy sky takes up the top half of the art. The clouds on the left end are painted white, thin, lightly stroked, and curved. In the center, there is a small stroke of yellow that must be the sun. On the left side, there is a small clump of fluffy

The painting is made up of very warm colours, of browns, yellows and oranges. There is an interesting patch of blue sky in the to right hand corner, and definitely doesn't match the rest of the sky which is very dark and almost like a sunset. The constable looks very out of place with his formal uniform, quite opposite to Ned Kelly who seems like a natural part of the scenery.…

The prime focus of this piece is Mt.Hood, which is centered in the middle of the picture plane halfway up the canvas. The mountain in the piece is opaque as there are no t-intersections within it. Behind the mountain various tones of orange, red, purple, and yellow are used to create a stunning sunset. Underneath the mountain, short straight strokes of numerous shades of green, blue, orange, and purple were used to create an image of thousands and thousands of trees. Close to halfway on the canvas, the image of Mt.Hood, the sunset, and the rows of trees is reflected on the water of Trillium Lake. Tehan utilizes the same colors she used in the top half of the canvas to create the reflection on the water. Centered on the bottom of the canvas towards the left side of the piece is a railing painted using various tones of brown, black, purple, yellow, pink, and orange. Tehan's delicate use of her pallet knife allowed her to create straight geometric lines for the railing. It also allowed her to give the railing an illusory texture.…

Just a little bit off from the middle of the painting there is a structure not unlike Stone Hedge in England on top of a hill. Below it there is a river with small sailing ships going around, and on the bank there is a village filled with lots of wooden structures and even further left you can see a man using oxen to plow a field. On the other side of the painting you can see another section of the river where a larger sailing ship is being constructed on its…

The medium used to construct this artwork is oil paint. This artwork shows a pine tree which seems to be in the forest or near many other trees. About half of the pine tree has less leaves than the other half of the pine tree. This must be what the name of the artwork is talking about which has something to do with the time “Five O’Clock”. The pine tree to the right of the centered pine tree seems to full compared to the center tree. The tree is asymmetrical due to the amount of leaves on one side as opposed to the leaves on the other side. Similar to the artwork Buffalo Hunter, the form of art is fine art because this is an oil painting on a canvas. I believe the content of this artwork relates to the growth of the tree in relation to time that has passed. And also similar to the painting Buffalo Hunter, this painting is two-dimensional because it is on a…

The first thing to note is the overall composition of the painting. First and foremost it is a landscape painting. The colors are very monochrome; the space is stretched to reveal a depth to the painting that the eye cannot capture; and there is stillness to the art that embraces nature and serenity of life. In the right-hand corner of the painting there is calligraphy. The calligraphy lacks the precision, but is very clear in its form, much like the depiction within the painting itself.…

This piece of art was created by Claude Monet. He is known as the classic impressionist. In this painting, he captures the ever-changing nature of light and color. Unlike a lot of paintings, you can see the brush strokes in this painting. But I believe that the brush strokes used help create the piece of art and they help show the leaves and flowers on the trees. Also, it helps make the clouds in the sky look more hazy and beautiful.…

Some of these archetypes that the painting includes are a powerful vibrant sky, big mountains in the background, large unique trees in foreground, and water with a welcoming feel. I created a darker feel for this painting by leaving the trees without leaves, saturating the sky with dark blues, and making a darker foreground grass with some highlights. Along with the…

The subject matter within the painting can be split into to separate parts. On the left is Mexico, it is primary to do with nature and the Mexican landscape. The foreground is dominated by a colourful arrangement of plants and flowers, which roots go into the ground. The middle ground is a dark earthy brown colour and has to other figures in it they both seem to be of a young age, one resembles an ape like figure the other is a young white girl. They look like rectangles or squares, depending on the size, and have a half circle on top, an arch. In this piece of artwork the colors are what attracted my attention. There are bright, dark, warm, cool, and muted colors mixed in. The bright colors in this piece of artwork almost show a light shining down on them. In the painting it shows that it is a nice day with a couple clouds in the sky.…
