Now, the reason why I think that the crusades were a good thing is because it brought the eastern trade industry into Europe. Document 2 states that, merchants in Venice built ships to carry crusaders into the holy land. The merchants later used those fleets to build markets in places such as Acre. This is (important/interesting/relevant) because the crusaders used these ships
for greater good than what they are usually used for. Document 8 states that although the Crusaders failed to free the holy land they had a lasting effect on the way europeans lived. This is (important/interesting/relevant) because the trade is improved very much during this time.
Now here are 2 more reasons why the crusades were a good thing
Document 3 states Europe was prepared for overseas expansion not only by Marco Polo, but the Crusades.
This is (important/interesting/relevant) because if it weren't for the Crusades, we wouldn’t have expanded overseas to America, Africa, and Asia.
Document 5 states that Muslim rulers kept European businessmen trading in the middle east, even after the Crusader lands were recaptured.
This is (important/interesting/relevant) because I found out that the crusades weren’t actually that bad.
Now we found out that the crusades were a good thing. We found out that it helped with trade. Technology advancements were also made during the crusades. And it helped spread European influences. Now do you agree on my opinion?
