Using the 5 Themes of Geography, it makes it possible to look at countries and be able to navigate around them without actually being there. They help us learn about the country and the people who live there and how they are able to live there from the resources they make. It allows geographers to look deeper into the country instead of just looking at a map.
By using Location, the first of the 5 Themes of Geography, geographers are able to give a specific physical point on Earth to describe where Cameroon is. Location also uses two unique characteristics called absolute location and relative location. Absolute location uses the lines of latitude and longitude. Longitude lines run east to west, while latitude lines run north to south. The absolute location of Cameroon is at the points 7.3697°N, 12.3547°E. Relative location can be defined as how it relates to other things including water or land. The relative location of Cameroon is north of the equator in the northeastern hemisphere. It’s neighboring countries include Chad, Nigeria, Central African Republic. Republic of the Congo, Gabon, and Equatorial Guinea. Using location geographers can locate a country using specific points and not just estimating where the country is.
