By using Location, the first of the 5 Themes of Geography, geographers are able to give a specific physical point on Earth to describe where Cameroon is. Location also uses two unique characteristics called absolute location and relative location. Absolute location uses the lines of latitude and longitude. Longitude lines run east to west, while latitude lines run north to south. The absolute location of Cameroon is at the points 7.3697°N, 12.3547°E. Relative location can be defined as how it relates to other things including water or land. The relative location of Cameroon is north of the equator in the northeastern hemisphere.
