The Roman Empire. The biggest and most advanced Empire in the world at its height, filled with countless impossible tasks that give us inspiration for things accomplished today. They were filled with the passion of one nation that led them to be nearly invincible. Sadly, no nation can last forever, and they eventually caused their own demise. There were four main reason for the fall of the Western Roman Empire which consisted of political issues, economic troubles, life threatening diseases, and attacks from foreign invaders.

These higher taxes were due to the legions demanding higher salaries for their army to become the greatest, and their leader to eventually become the emperor of Rome. People couldn’t afford these new taxes being demanded and all the extra money that was being spent, and so it was eventually wasted. In addition the citizens were asking for better products being imported from Rome. As a result, this affected the income that Rome was collecting and because of this there was less economic growth within Rome. Also, because of the trading over the Mediterranean Sea, people would lose their ships due to pirates and people weren't receiving their goods that they had ordered. There was also a lack of gold that was being imported into Rome because of this. This led cheaper materials used in coins and as a result, the value in the coin decreased. Since the coins having less value, the prices in products increased. Accordingly the prices of products increased and the value of the product decreased. People began to trade products rather than gaining profits and farmers wouldn’t farm because they were not making money. People of all places were sharing the same crowded space and bringing diseases, like malaria, with them when they came. It was also a problem because the Romans were an extremely social culture so when they’re going to the bathroom, they all go together and share all of the same materials. The Romans also hosted bath houses which were hundreds of people sitting in one hot bath that consisted of large amounts of bacteria. In addition to diseases, they also didn’t know what lead poisoning was and all of the aqueducts leading into the city contained lead pipes. As a result people were drinking water that was contaminated with lead and thousands of people would die due to this. Every day thousands of people would die because of diseases and the population of Rome plummeted. Even Attila the Huns retreated from Rome to avoid
