Cerebral palsy is a disorder that cannot be cured but could be treated by trying to regain the child’s mobility. A child with a normal disability can live an ordinary life but not as a typical person. The best way to treat a child with cerebral palsy is in the early stage. This will give the child a better chance of improving and overcoming their difficulties. Children that are diagnosed with CP do attend therapy for treatment depending on the type of cerebral palsy they have. A group of people will work with the ill to determine the type of cerebral palsy he or she may have in order to help them improve their lifestyle. Physical therapy is involves using exercises to help strength the child body. Physical therapy occurs when a child is noticed and diagnosed with cerebral palsy or in the first 2 years of the childhood life. This therapy will improve the motor skills and loosen the muscles of the child. In addition, the child will be given orthotic devices to improve their mobility such as brooches.
Occupational therapy focuses on the day-to-day bases by helping the child to dress correctly, go to school and carry out different types of activates. Speech and language therapy encourages children to improve their speech and the different ways they communicate with others such as face expressions or hand signs. Language therapy is a type of therapy that teaches children a variety of things such as sign language, how to use a computer and pronouncing words that they cannot say. Drug treatment is a treatment that uses medication to treat the children muscle stiffness. This treatment is done orally and results in the child relaxation of muscles and pain. Types of Oral medication that are used to treat muscle stiffness and overactive muscles are diazepam, nizatidine and dartrolere
