As an infant, the first words that comes out of your mouth are usually either mamma or papa.
My first word was mum. My mother has been there taking care of me since I was born and has not once let me down. She has worked so hard to provide me with everything I need; I hope that one day I can do the same for my child. Not only has she provided me with everything I could ever need; she has supported me through my life decisions. She always tells me, "Life is about choices, choose a good one." I know that she will always support me no matter what, and that's why she is my idol.
Today, sports are a big part of my life, and she has constantly been my number one cheerleader. Knowing that she is in the stands and cheering me on, makes me strive to give one hundred percent all the time. Even when I don't have the best game, she is there to encourage me to do better next time. I know sometimes she has a busy work schedule and is not able to be at my game. I still aim to try my hardest knowing that she will be the first one to know how I
did.
Education is really important to my mom, and that is why she pushes me to get good grades in school. She wants me to have the best future possible. It took her twelve long years to complete all her schooling including college, medical school, and residency. She even went back to college to become fellowship trained in pain medicine for a year. The year she was gone was very tough on the whole family not being able to see each other. It was something that needed to be done, so we did not have to move. Knowing how hard she had to work to be where she is today, makes me work hard for my grades so that someday I can do the same. Being a medical provider is very rewarding to her, knowing that she can help people. I have even thought about becoming a physical therapist in the medical field because my love of sports and to provide help to people. She always tells me that to choose a job you like that way you don't have to work a day in your life.
My mother, my role model, is a big part of my life, and I am so thankful for everything she has done for me. My mom has achieved her dreams and wants the same to happen to me. She has provided me with a loving and safe home. She has influenced me in so many ways, and I hope that someday I will be like her. I know I would not be the person I am today without my mom.
