Education To Me
"Congratulations, you got the job of your dreams." Wouldn't this be a great way to start the beginning of one's day? I know that it would be for me. In reality it is highly unlikely for a employer to call or write you a letter stating these exact words. It is possible however, to feel as if they did. The right education into a field that a person loves is the key to never having to work a day in one' life. To be able to make a difference in other people's lives by helping them achieve their goals is very important to me. I wish to make a difference no matter how small. These are just a few of the many reasons why education is a vital necessity for myself. In high school I had a wonderful biology teacher. She never based anything on test and I learned more than biology in her class. Her favorite saying that she pounded into every student's head was "If you find a job you love then you will never have to work a day in your life." This simple yet powerful statement is one of the reasons I believe that education is an option available to everybody that must be grasped with everything we have. Mrs. Whindam passed away last year and I was able to look at myself and say "she would have been proud of me." I started college in 2009 and will graduate in May of this year. My major is criminal justice and I know that I will love working in this field. Without my educational experiences it would not be possible for me to goninto the field I want. It allows for a leg up in the competition for a job as well as a broader understanding of the laws and practices of Criminal Justice. Education to me is not about making money. It's not about glory, fame, or praise. When all is said and done it is about helping people and being a happy well rounded person. In my major we don't just arrest or prosecute people.
