There are a lot of people that come from poverty stricken backgrounds and families. They are desperate to make a better life for themselves in any way they can and for this reason they are easily fooled by people promising to give them the life they want. The country has a high index of organised crime and unemployment which both contribute to the likelihood of human trafficking. I feel that a country such as Russia which is supposedly ‘first world’ should be better equipped to fight such atrocities at least within their country. In Cambodia, trafficking of women and children has increased gradually because of foreign investors and a large market. The people that fund such crimes cannot justify them because for me poverty is never an excuse to put someone else’s lives at risk for your own satisfaction.
