What Is The Difference Between Praise And Thanksgiving
The Mystery of Praise and Thanksgiving
I want to begin by saying praise and thanksgiving is part of worship. We praise and thank God who has been revealed to us. Our hearts have been touched and influenced by His presence. Therefore we yearn, desire and pursue God through praise and thanksgiving for the wonderful things He has done for us.
The Power of Praise
There is power in praise. That is why God inhabits in the praises of His people (Ps 22:3). Every human loves praise. People are normally attracted where they are praised and avoid any element of intimidation. Look at any leader whether it be a pastor, a president or even the local leader, he or she will join any singing group that talks about him in song and dance. Praise is the key to

He should pray. Is anyone happy? Let him sing songs of praise’’-NIV
When you sing or praise out of a joyful heart it is acceptable before God. Don’t allow sorrow or grumbling to deny you your place in God’s presence. One of the reasons that stopped the children of Israel to reach their promised land was murmuring. They did not have joy in serving God. They saw it as a burden that they could not carry. But God saw their attitude and denied them that opportunity to possess Canaan. Caleb and Joshua had the right attitude. God was faithful to give them their inheritance in the land of Canaan.
James 1:2-8--’Consider it pure joy, my brothers, whenever you face trials of many kinds, 3 because you know that the testing of your faith develops perseverance. 4 Perseverance must finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything. 5 If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. 6 But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. 7 That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; 8 he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

If someone is Christian, some of the things they do to praise the Lord most likely started with Aimee Semple McPherson in the 1920’s. McPherson was the first woman preacher in history. She toured the west coast preaching the Gospel to many people, gaining a great deal of followers. When she settled in Los Angeles to start her ministry her fame increased along with her profits. While her success was booming, she disappeared very unexpectedly and no one knows what really happened. After this incident, her ministry surprisingly became even more popular. A cornucopia of her followers continued following her and carried out her legacies while others saw her as nothing but a phony. McPherson took a lot of criticism after the disappearance, but still stayed strong and managed to keep ahold of her Christianity.…

The Lord is a very generous and loving God. We, as followers and believers of Christ, should be thankful for everything He does. Many people in the world are not thankful for all the things the Lord does for them. They tend to complain about their life and worry about what they do not have rather than think about all the things they are privileged to have. People worry too much about who has the best phone, or car, or house, etc. and they do not focus on what is really important, which is their relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. It is very easy to think of all the things we do not have and be unthankful. We can be jealous and covetous. But the hard thing to do is to remember to thank God for everything He has provided for us and for the wonderful life that He has given us.…

So this November, rather than mount another attack on the national mythology around Thanksgiving -- a mythology that amounts to a kind of holocaust denial, and which has been critiqued for many years by many people -- I want to explore why so many who understand and accept this critique still celebrate Thanksgiving, and why rejecting such celebrations sparks such controversy.…

Is there anything in your life that you just want so badly but you can’t have? It’s always out of grasp? In Kate Chopin’s stories, examples of this can be seen. The woman in her stories and her era of time wished to be free and independent from the men and the influences of society. It almost seems that she is defying the conventional role of women of that era in society with her stories. In three of her stories, The Kiss, The Story of an Hour, and A Pair of Silk Stockings, it shows the women struggle with the men in their lives and societies expectations on women.…

All guns have the potential to be dangerous and should be dealt with precaution. Guns have been a part of American history for as long as people can remember. For most individuals guns are supposed to be very dangerous and unsafe. Though, that is not true. Guns can be hazardous, but only if they are in the wrong hands. Owning a gun is a right that every American should take pride in having. Guns are used for self-protection, hunting, law enforcement and other practices. The right to own a gun is secured by the 2nd constitutional amendment. So, prohibition of guns from being owned or bought is immoral and unconstitutional. Gun control in the United States should be eliminated.…
