What It Means to Be a Pop Star
What it means to be a pop star A pop star can have a lot of different meanings to many people. An image can make people assume that they know what a pop star is. Some people think a pop star is someone who just gets on stage and performs. However not everyone thinks that’s what a pop star is. Not too many people are able to become a pop star in today’s society. In order to do that you have to be really dedicated, work hard, and you also have to make a lot of sacrifices. One of the more popular teenage pop stars that we currently have is Justin Bieber, Selena Gomez, and Taylor Swift. These three pop stars worked very hard just so that they would be able to be recognized for their talent. However, we necessarily don’t know what it means to be a pop star. We would actually have to ask them to see what it means to them. Justin Bieber is one of the most well-known pop stars right now. He was discovered a while ago when people saw his YouTube videos of him performing on the street singing. From there on he became known until someone finally signed him. In magazine interview with Justin Bieber he talked about fame. He said that, “Fame can tear you apart, so you can never really feel like your famous. When people start acting like their famous, that’s when they start losing it.” To me it’s very interesting what Justin Beiber said. A good example of people acting like their famous would be Britney Spears. She already knew she was famous so she basically just stopped working hard and did whatever she wanted just because she was famous. In the end it made her look terrible and made her seem like a joke. However, even being famous can get pretty intense to these pop stars. In an interview with Selena Gomez she talks about how being famous can have a lot of downsides to it. Selena Gomez said “I just don’t think that people realize how hard it is.” This line by Selena Gomez can suggest that being a pop star is very difficult and that you almost always have to be perfect.
