In history President Abraham Lincoln was known for his values of being an honest man; therefore getting the name “Honest Abe.” Besides his values the decisions he had made as president is the strong suite for him becoming the Leader of true “Free World”. In are text book of how to become a well-respected leader we have learned that the person must be a leader of action also have strong intelligence, characteristics, and a purpose. President Lincoln had each of those intellectual concepts to be a leader. Mentally he analyzes the obscurity of owning slaves who are people and not property. Socially he had conversed with people around that didn’t own slaves and those who found it inhuman to treat other human beings nothing more than objects to acquire. Emotionally he knew the pain of being less fortunate and zealously felt that slaves could have the same chances he gave to himself. While growing up poor he had to picking of minimal education but also the treatment of being at the bottom of society and being seen almost equal to a slave’s life.
