Throughout my entire life, I have found that hard work and dedication can help me achieve any goal that I set. I have overcome the separation and lack of decent parents, incarceration of my oldest brother, and many other events with the morals and skills that were taught to me by my grandparents (who are my legal guardians). Due to their influence and love, I have always put my best foot forward and looked at the world with optimism. Since the second grade, I have been in gifted/honor courses, exceeded through my classes, and have made many friends. My backbone does not consist of selfish desires or influences; it consists of my morals and the family and friends that I do have pushing me to change the world.…
We should be determined to live for something. May I suggest that it be creating joy for others, sharing what we have for the betterment of person-kind, bringing hope to the lost and love to the lonely -Leo Buscaglia.” This quote is very special because I relate to this by giving those people gifts that were unexpected creates joy for them, when they get it so it brings hope to other people when they see kindness in this world happening right in front of them, because in the modern world there isn’t that much kindness.…
The most important goal for my future is to obtain a satisfying career. Growing up I saw how unhappy my mother was working at a job that she hated just to make enough to provide for our family. I further understood how important a satisfying career was to me when I started working the graveyard shift as a dockworker during community college. I strongly disliked almost everything about the job including the exposure to extreme temperatures, the job’s filthy nature, the long and irregular hours, and most of all because it was unfulfilling. I was miserable with my occupation but I was dependent on it because it was lucrative and provided me with a way to support myself through college. I worked fulltime at this job for two years while also being a fulltime student until I transferred to SIU. The dread that I felt toward my job made me work harder academically because I knew that someday my hard work would amount to a career that I thoroughly…
After all the ups and downs in my life none of those things stopped me in achieving my dreams in 2012 the year that I received my associates the most emotional moment in my life when I had walked and made my family proud of me. I know it doesn’t seem a lot to many people but to me was the beginning of a very successful life and making a difference in my life and many others. Not only I did this for myself but for my nephews (my brothers kids) to show them that it takes a lot of hard work to achieve for our dreams but anything is possible in life as long as we don’t give up, hopefully inspire them to go far in life. I want to make a change in my family’s lives and make things better for all of us.…
If I am not helping other people reach their dreams, I’m not reaching mine either. I am so strongly devoted to making a difference in as many lives as possible. Furthering my education will put me on my path towards success. My view on success is much more than my personal accomplishments, it’s how much I can help others. I want my life to be the reason someone else’s life is made better. Helping others is what defines…
Today, our society assigns the value to human life based on which life is actually more appealing to them. In other words, society places a price tag on a man’s life. A person is judged by society on the value of their life based on certain factors and aspects that are irrelevant. People realize the true value to their lives when they are in encounter with situations that may take it away. And because the value of life is so precious, society should determine its value in different and better ways that appreciate its value.…
My parents hard work and accomplishments have taught me that I can do whatever I set my mind to do. At this time I am not sure what I want my career to be but I know I want to be successful. Everyone wants to be successful but not everyone is willing to work hard to be successful. My parents have taught me that the key to become successful is to work hard. In the end my goal is to work hard, become successful, and to repay my parents somehow for their hard work.…
Human life is one of the few natural rights in life that cannot be valued by wealth, or taken in for exchange by any tangible object. Human life is precious and fragile and should be treated as such. Each person 's individuality and capability is a prime factor that exemplifies the need humans have to be valued, all life is equivalent, but should be equal in the highest plausible factors. Human life cannot simply be put with a price, for each life is valued at a price that is not external to another, therefore; the value I place on a loved one would vary astronomically to the price value one would insinuate on that very person. Human life can not be placed at any monetary value, it can be inferred that the greed for money has played a large role in the events that have taken place, leading one to suspect that it is not the loved one people are concerned about, but rather the money they can receive for their loved one. People are now being brainwashed into believing that they should receive financial compensation for their losses.…
achieve a long time goal. As an adult student I have experience many life experiences…
There are so many goals I will have through out my life, none of them being as important as obtaining a college degree. Some people may say that my family is the most important achievement in my life. But a degree is in ways more important. It ensures that I will provide the best life for my family. On the other hand my family is what gives me the courage to wake up every morning and look forward to going to school to learn knew things. Working toward my degree keeps my mind focused. Having a long term goal is key in my life. Because no matter what happens I know that the next day I will be dedicating time from my life to achieve something most people only think about doing. I hope I can stay motivated enough to get more classes done. And to do my best at all times, even if my best is scraping by. Because at that time it was my best. These are small goals, but these goals will add up to a more important achievement in the end.…
Each of us have something different in mind when trying to make life goals for ourselves. Some of us think money, some think power, some think a job they love. Me, I think of a family, i've loved kids since I was a kid. I’ve valued a family most of all throughout life, and i've looked forward to the day I get to start my own family my entire life. To have a family, I want to be committed to them and be there through the most important moments of their lives.…
My most important priorities in life are: getting my Master's degree, owning my own company, getting out of debt and building my credit and caring for others. If I ever have a family, I want to make sure that we are comfortable and not struggling because I've dealt with it and would like to do better for myself and familly. I want to build/buy my own house. I want a job that will not only cover me financially but I want to do what I love. Being in control. I want to help people. Help the youth. Keeping faith and discipline will help me with accomplishing my goal to start my career. Building relationships with people like me will keep me motivated. Networking in business major related functions will help me associate better with those that have the same type of goals and dreams like I do.I want them to be able to learn from me and vice versa. I learned that setting up a good plan and self-management plan will help me achieve my goals. Every day I am tempted either by drugs, sex or just distracted by other things that if I chose to partake in could hold me back. I could and used to allow things to make me lose my focus. I've learned that there is nothing that can stand in the way of me achieving my goals but me. I want to use what I've learned to encourage and motivate my peers and youth. That's the part of what my career will have to do with. Teaching and motivating the youth. Making shelter for those who can do it on their own or have had a hard time in life and just need a little help. I want to encourage the youth to do well and not be distracted. Go in full force right after high school and continue on to college. Have them keep a positive mind. With this mindset, we will have the attention of the yoiung to keep them going. I see less bullying, fights and higher grades in the future and ways of children communicating in a more subtle way to understand each other or just resolve issues without violence. When I was younger, I used to laugh at the saying "Children…
It all lies in our hands to make something out of life. It all begins with discovering your area of strength, then followed by your dreams or aspiration. This determines the kind of goals you set for yourself which extends to drafting the right plans to help you achieve that…
I remember being asked the common question, “What do you want to be when you grow up?” as a child. That one common question brought on so much confusion not only as a child, but also as a “grown up”. Very recently I began exploring different areas about myself and my career interest. I learned what my strong and weak competencies are and I became familiar with my Ethical Lens -- Rights and Responsibilities. I also realized that my desire to gain my Bachelor’s in accounting and to become a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) in the next five years was in fact, stemming from these things I was not aware about myself. It became a puzzle and the first piece was figuring out how my goal would flourish by understanding my career interest and competencies.…
